"Ow, it's burning."
Serge is standing in the doorway to the office and I'm trying to ignore him, reading as I am, some beloved person's blog.
"What is?"
I ask disinterestedly while I continue reading and only marginally comprehend him when he says,
"My face. I put some cream on it and now it's burning. Look."
He sidles up next to me so that I am forced to look up at his face. It is red and greasy looking.
"What did you put on your face?"
"Cream."
"What kind of cream?"
"Foot cream."
"Honey, why are you putting foot cream on your face?"
"Because my face is dry, and we don't have any hydrating cream so I thought the foot cream would be the same thing."
"Gosh hon, I'm pretty sure when they came up with the title for the cream. they had a reason. Now go wash that off and we'll go buy you some face moisturizer."
And I am charmed as we walk to the drugstore together.
Serge's anti-dulling cream must be working. It's just not working right. Quick, go stop him from putting anti-wrinkle cream on his dick! You guys are a riot, a riot I tell you!:-)
ReplyDeleteLOL. That's funny. :P Poor Serge. Hope his face is better. :)
ReplyDeleteI would have tried foot cream too, but I guess they do add more ingredients since heels are way tougher than the face, and usually foot cream does have an ingredient to make them all tingly and fresh feeling. Love how the two of you interact!
ReplyDeleteYou should only apply that to cure foot-in-mouth disease.
ReplyDelete:)
The anti-dullness cream seemed to dry out his face which is why he ended up putting on the foot cream.
ReplyDeleteYou see, this is why I avoid all of this. One cream just leads to others;)
(Don't worry, he has some Nivea replenishing cream now)
heehee, poor Serge.
ReplyDeleteAnd Tornwordo, this is where your camera comes in handy again...
Cream is a source of evil, it start with the face, then the hands, then the feet, then the arms, then all the body !
ReplyDeleteDon't get fooled !
Poor Serge! Those anti-dulling creams work by melting your old skin so that new skin will grow. Foot cream though? Ouch!
ReplyDeleteI'd say the anti-dulling stuff is working, Serge is less dull already! hahah! Just kidding! ;o)
I can understand his POV.
ReplyDeleteLong ago, when I worked with cosmetics (I can't believe I'm admitting that), I would sometimes use face cream on my hands to moisturize them when they were really dry.
When my co-workers found out, they asked me why (and said a few other things) and I told them the skin on your face is the same skin on your hands.
Whether the skin on your feet is the same as the skin on your face, uh, I dunno.
LOL - Does Serge approve of you publishing his...exploits on these pages?
ReplyDeleteGeeeesh. Poor Serge. I had a similar experience. When I was 18 and a college freshman, I acquired a painful rash walking the streets of Boston. When I went home for Thanksgiving, I mentioned it to my Dad who suggested the only ointment in the house: Desenex, (Athlete's Foot medication). ZOOWWEEE! Did that smart! Felt like my balls were burning off! (He thought it was hilarious.)
ReplyDeletePoor Serge! Once the burning pain ended, though, I am sure his skin became soft and supple.
ReplyDeleteI hope it wasn't peppermint foot cream or something like that. That can really sting too.
ReplyDeletePeppermint on the face isn't as refreshing as one would think...ouch.
ReplyDeleteawwww, such a supportive hubby, you are.
ReplyDeletewhy don't they call it "feet cream"? i mean, it doesn't come in left and right, does it? and it's acceptable to use it on both, correct? *sigh* this is why i use so few products. it's just too much work.
I wish I had a charming partner to remind me the right and wrong places to put...things.
ReplyDeleteAt least he didn't try to eat it-- that would have given new meaning to putting his foot in his mouth. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love that he left it on even after it started to burn HIS FACE. Burning of the face is probably a good reason to stop doing anything. Maybe not in Canada though.
ReplyDeleteDidn't y'all see Amelie!? Gee whiskers, you canadians you ;) Just don't use WD40 thinking it will have the same lubricating effect elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the time in Japan when I thought I was putting Sea Breeze (an astringent) on my face and it turned out to be nail polish remover.
ReplyDeleteThat didn't feel good.
Sigh...Pauvre p'tit bete.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so adorable. I love when you post stories like this.
ReplyDeletePoor little guy. Where would he be without you? Always read the creaming instructions.
ReplyDeleteIs Serge a lotion whore? Because it sounds like he is.
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteOuch! painful, atleast you're there to soothe it better :>)
ReplyDeleteok I'm sending you a large "Do Not Put On Face" labeling kit for all Serges products.
ReplyDeletePlease use it wisely...
I used a cream on my face that made the skin peel off. Oww it was sore. It was expensive so I didn't by the moisturizer cream that was supposed to be used afterwards. I didn't have anyone to tell me not to so I put rubbing alcohol on it and it burned like hell and got really red. Anywho, you guys are the best comedy team since Martin and Lewis. Don't ever break up you obviously need each other.
