Quick admission

I really have no time this morning. I can't whine though because I'm starving for money, as it's taken longer than expected to get going this session. It looks like I'll be teaching very early tues through fri mornings now, and getting home late in the evening. That's fine, I'll just write smaller posts like I do come every October.

Here's what I'd like to know today. Am I a bad person that every time I see Obama on television, I'm reminded of Tuvok on Start Trek Voyager (Tim Russ)? I know that they probably don't really look too much alike, but there's something similar that I can't put my finger on. Delivery? Facial structure? Anyway, I keep imagining him with Vulcan ears and then it's hard to pay attention to what he's saying.

  1. The haircuts are close. Along with new ears, reshape Obama's eyebrows a bit and the makeover is complete!

Maybe Obama was on Star Trek Voyager, he is capable of doing several things at once unlike McBush. ed

  3. I have no problems with a Vulcan in the White House. Beats the hell out of a troglodyte.

  5. No, you're not a bad person. In fact, I think you're on to something there. It might be nice to have some logic in government.

  6. I think there could be a resemblence between Obana and Tuvok. Personally, I think Bush looks like a Ferengi...with hair. And smaller lobes.

    HUGS...

  7. Ha-ha... yes, you are bad-- bad and smart and funny.

  8. Vulcan ears might be an improvement. Logic in the White House, even more so!

  9. Hey guys...the resemblance is that they're BOTH BLACK.

Jokes, jokes. I do see it a bit. Obama can be a bit vulcan-like when he talks, which is a good thing. Better than Bush talking like a...I dunno...were there any non-intelligent species in Star Trek?

  10. Yes, you are bad because now I can't look at Obama without thinking of Tuvok. Shame on you. (So who's his running mate?)

They do kinda look alike; not sure they sound the same, though, except for the logic component others have noted.

So I don't think this makes you a bad person, but it does out you as a nerd; I guess the "disguise" from yesterday's post is your true self then:))

  12. You have a "Dr. Mo" as a commenter.

That freaks me right the hell out.

Errr, sorry, I was supposed to comment on your post.

  13. You are a closeted Trekkie? And I thought I knew you!

  14. Poor you, having to get up ridiculously early four days a week. That's no fun

That's how I feel about Sarah Palin and Tina Fey -- Tina is a dead-ringer for Sarah and the first thing I thought when seeing Sarah was, "Tina Fey should play her on Saturday Night Live".

    And VOILA! It happened!

  17. You know, I never saw the resemblance, but now that you point it out, well, I still don't see it. Maybe if you could get Obama into the uniform.

  18. If he is a closet Trekkie, I can see why he never mentioned it. Voyager sucked.

  19. by the title, I thought you were going to say you were smoking!

Let's see, cool, rational, an aversion to untruth.... yes very similar.

  22. Logical conclusion...(there is a .8 resemblance there) Anyway, they are both enigmatic and intelligent.

  24. I think this does indeed make you a bad person. And thank goodness for that!

  26. I think it's the deep, clear voice that's making the connection.

Sarah Palin has the pointy ears.
