Earth calling Torn

During the hell of insomnia that I was experiencing recently, I noted a huge increase in my clairvoyance. I probably shouldn't find this surprising as I know that the more you get away from your "control of reality" the more you can see what's really going on.

This is where some people might wish to roll their eyes or click away and denounce this *baloney*.

If you've stayed, perhaps you are keen to know what I'm talking about. It's about our consciousness and its ability to create the world around us. It is true that the more people can agree on the reality, the easier it is to function within.

But what is really going on?

All I know is that when I'm deprived of my usual energies, such as I was during the two weeks of insomnia, I found it was all I could do to pay attention enough to get through the day, ride the bus, describe grammar, feed myself. And I couldn't give any attention to my emotions, what a luxury emotions are I realized, no I could only try to function and *act* normally. But what kept happening was that I got flashes of scenes and "heard" words before they were spoken. It was like I was ten seconds ahead of everything as it echoed back in time at me.

I'm not shitting you, this is what I experienced. Now I'm open to this kind of thing, so that could have helped, but I promise you I didn't have the energy to make this up. It is a mystery, the nature of such hallucinations, but once again I am reminded that there is much more going on in this world than meets the eye.

My good friend Em recently returned from a journey out "on the hill", a kind of native fasting in the nature ceremony. Two sweats and two days of fasting, including water privation she endured in an environment far from our 21st century reality. She had some interesting things happen, and if we're lucky she'll share some of them with us...(It looks like she's started)

Even though I hated it, I am humbled by my insomnia experience, I want to be closer to the mystery and yet the only way to get there is to suffer in some way, get out of your comfort zone, challenge the senses you don't even believe you have.

Okay then, I'll be back on earth tomorrow.

It seems intuitive that any "stress" experience - insomnia, fasting etc. would make us more able to perceive the "wider"...forces at work. That's not quite what I mean but it hints at it. It's too early!

Sometime I'll write about the ghost that lived in my dads Quebec house. It's funny - like you I rarely tell people about things like the ghost - ridicule can be a powerful deterrent to truth, even if it's just one's own truth of experience.

It makes sense that you would be open to other forces when you're too tired to keep control of your thoughts.

Its the hydrangea.

Sure it does fuck-all for the looks of your garden, but its magical and its slowly turning you into Harry Potter.

Didn't you buy it a little before your on set on insomnia?

hmm.. isn't it a proven scientific fact that people people who lack REM sleep will eventually go insane? I saw it on Star Trek once so it must be true. Perhaps you were on the edge of sanity?

Hope you're getting some more shut eye this week. Since I've moved i'm having weird dreams, probably caused by anxieties. :>)

Maybe there are a lot more people who are open to this but the only way to experience it is through deprivation-- and perhaps, as you have suggested, in depriving yourself of sleep/food/etc. You become so focused on just "acting" that you don't get caught up in emotions.

Maybe it's the shutting down of emotions which makes one more receptive to clairvoyance... Maybe human emotion takes up so much of our brainpower that it clouds or completely blocks our reception to clairvoyance...

I don't mean to offend, but it sounds like your mind was simply tired from the sleep deprivation and you were experiencing extended bouts of "deja vu," which, according to theory, occur when the brain slows down and "sees" or "hears" information a few seconds after it has already been processed. It just took longer for your mind to analyze and organize the sensory input, so when you did "see" or "hear" something it seemed like you were anticipating it.

That or your name is really Charles Xavier.

Lately I've been having non-stop lucid dreams. So lucid, that I remember addresses, street numbers, names etc... If any of them come true -- I'll not be ok.

I don't if I lose touch with my emotions or if the bad emotions just become more magnified with a lack of sleep.

As for the other stuff, I am open to thinking about it.

2 days without water. Wow. At least I got to have water. And yeah, all that is completely real. It costs, though. How's your sleep now?

I have no problem with the notion that when our energy - and therefore our defences are down, we open put to all those aspects of existence that we usually filter out.

No REM sucks...as JJD said, it will lead to psycho behavior...I really like your blog. I am enjoying reading it.

argh.. i hate it when i can't get sleep.

unlike you, i'd just slow down for hours, and then have this burst of heightened emotions for a while, and then slow down again for the next few hours.

thankfully I've got medication now. yes, sleep is a wonderful thing =)

My mom has the whole ESP thing going on. It kind of sucked growing up, because we could never get away with anything.
