Bummers plus Georgie porn

So much going on this week, and most of it negative, so let's get that out of the way first. Let's see, last night one of the tenants called to tell us their unit had been broken into and all of their valuables stolen. It's worse for them I know, but we had to pay (up the butt) for a new window. Same drill as last time, they put a temporary one in and then in a week or so they come back with the exact replacement type. $600 again.

Then things have been spoiling lately in the fridge so I started to monitor the temperature and it never gets under 47 degrees even when I have it at max. Serge left it open all night one day last week so that may have something to do with it, we're going to try using everything up and then turning it off for a day in case ice has built up on the inside coils. There is no freezer, only fridge ; we have a separate freezer. Anyway, it does produce cold air, just not cold enough. I hope it's fixable and of minimal cost. Experience tells me that such optimism is unreasonable.

I'm writing today at this hour because tomorrow we've got to go to the mother in law's to do a garage sale (see above for impetus) for which we have spent the last couple weekends building a pile. We have to be there at 7:30, which really is a crime on a Saturday. Also in craptastic news this week, the mother in law was diagnosed with cancer and now must face surgery and 9 rounds of chemo. There's no easy or nice or pleasant way to write that previous sentence. I'm just sick about it as is Serge and we're crossing fingers and saying prayers. She goes under the knife in a week. Think nice things please! Or even say some, she's a reader!

Okay, enough bad news. Here's something to make you smile. Georgie had been playing and his bone got up on the piano and he was whining at me to get it. It was soooooooo cute, so I grabbed the camera. When I started filming, as you'll see, he goes and gets the bone without a whimper. After that I get him going though with his plaintant howls. I dare you not to smile.

And how do you like the new template?

The new look was the first thing I noticed. Tres nice.

And I shall indeed think some good thoughts for the MIL. Maybe one of the bodhisattvas will hear and lend a hand.

Good thoughts coming your way with the breezes from the Atlantic.
Georgie can TALK! What a character.
Love the new look...clean and tidy!

ooooh. a redesign. nicely done. now you just gotta fix my link on your blogroll (somehow you are my largest referring site even w/this blunder)

Mais oui. That's crazy - dogs don't speak french! But what a great vid - except he's calling you names in that howl.

Only good wishes for Serge's mom.

I changed mine as well the other day when I found I could do it.

It's all black, like my soul. Wow, serial killer much?

Loved the Georgie stuff, but you know he's going to poop in your bed for torturing him like that.

Anywho, I'll send good wishes for Serge's mom. Getting older would be so much more fun if our bodies did not betray us at every turn.

Great video! Maybe if you put the bone on the keyboard enough, you can teach Georgie how to play piano. . .

And best wishes and high hopes for your MIL. May everything go well for her so that she makes a full recovery.

Nice, fresh look. And I like hearing you talk to Georgie - how your voice goes up at the end of every phrase. I do the same thing with my animals.

I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. So frightening and difficult. When I read your post this morning, I felt so sad and saved your post so I could comment and show my support. Who would have thought that a few hours later my BFF would call with news that he has been diagnosed with cancer. I'm still in shock! It sounds like it could be *relatively* mild for him, but it's still sad and strange. All of that to say, sending love and hugs to the MIL from Blogland.

The new font is much easier to read.

When my fridge conks out I'm probably just going to get a new one because it's over 10 years old and the new ones come with a $50rebate from H-Q, and are supposedly more energy-efficient.

According to Google Translator, Georgie is saying, "Stop trying to trick me into playing piano for you!"

And, best wishes to your MIL for a full and speedy recovery.

The poor thing. He wants his little bone so bad.

Bandit dances around the coffee table like that too -- when I'm trying to get him and he doesn't want to come.

Too cute!

The refrigerator has a serious problem. If it is old replace it. If it is new it may still be under warranty. If it is otherwise in good condition then spend the dollars to repair it. Just remember they don't put diamons in pewter for a reason. Ted

I like the new template; it looks like Georgie. Our Sophie is absolutely perplexed when her tennis ball bounces into the little trash can. She dances and whines around it, acting as though she cannot reach it. But when we get home from being out, there are little bits of trash lying on the carpet. Uh huh. Even so, the husband always gets the ball for her. He is well-trained.

I'm sending up prayers for your mother-in-law's health. I've dealt with cancer, but I was lucky not to have chemo or radiation. It's a scary time.

I like the new template too.
Sorry to hear about your MIL. I’ve been treated for cancer and there are a lot of emotions that go along with it. She’ll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love the template! It feels kind of weird though, like you're turning a corner. It was the old way for so long! =)

Much love to Serge's mom! Keep up a positive attitude, it makes all the difference. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

The break-in tenants, same unit? You need to rent to a retired older lady with nothing better to do than keep an eye on things and call the po-po! I hope this is the last one.

And the fridge?! I'm still waiting for the bill for our fridge repair...I hope yours is something minor.

OMG I'm so sorry to hear about Serge's mom. I'm holding a good space for her now. And for Serge too.

How BobVT has warmed my heart this morning with his passion about Caya's crow. I'm really charmed. I love your new blog look though.

Leaving the fridge off for a day or two is a smart idea. I hope that revitalizes it.

L - O - V - E the new look!

Best wishes for your MIL and hoping for a full and speedy recovery.

Yes, the template is nice, the text easier to read, and as someone else commented before me, it looks like Gerogie, and everyone here probably agrees that he's one of the cutest dog in Montreal if not the entire planet. :)

I like the new template, it's easier to read in my advancing years.

Best to MIL for a quick recovery.

*heart* Georgie

Loving the new template but missing the little crow.

Lots of best wishes and support to your MIL for her treatment and to Serge and you for all the support and love you will be giving her.

I miss the crow too... it's unique.

My thoughts are with MIL and both of you. Lots of life changes going on, and not all of them good for you guys this year. I believe in the power of positive thoughts; call it prayer, the interconnectedness of us all, whatever. I'm sending them your way.

And you know already that Georgie is my second favorite dog.

*wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag wag* It never stops, does it?! Indi's doesn't either. If I could rent her out as a metronome, I'd make a fortune. Oh, but you're a big meanie for putting the bone higher and out of his reach!

I'll pray for your MIL, cancer is so cruel.
