This and that

And this was mine yesterday. It didn't say which oven rack to use and mine was set a little too low. There's just no salvaging them when they're like this. Luckily this was only a third of the batch and the rest came out perfectly. Tollhouse recipe.

I haven't much else to relate. It's a rainy weekend. We watched Milk last night and at one point serge said, "he looks like me." I started to laugh and then he acted a bit hurt, "why are you laughing?" and so we stopped the film and I got the camera so we could analyse his claims in the cold light of sobriety day. This morning, I'm still laughing a bit. Maybe if he were capable of sprouting facial hair, but as we all know, he didn't get much of a beard gene.

Oh I got the first few episodes of Six Feet Under too, but those aren't due back to the store until Tuesday so I'll watch those tonight or tomorrow. Have a lovely Sunday peeps.

Re: Facebook status: Light, wet snow flurries today, risk of same Wed and Thurs. But we're well within the norms for April. Let's face it, April sucks.

Too bad about the cookies. 3,000 fewer calories to consumer.

Enjoy your Sunday!

(Ack. Remove the "r" from "consume." My circuits are wired from long years of typing that word!)

So I guess I'm not getting the batch of Tollhouse that I was anticipating.

And yet, suddenly I'm craving cookies. I'm going to make more peanut butter ones today.

He sort of looked like Serge, resembles is a better word. I think Serge's nose is bigger.

You'll like Six Feet Under. Have you ever seen The Sopranos? That is also an excellent show.

What?? You got a problem with someone of COLOR? Come on, be a man and eat those cookies.

Burnt cookies can also be caused by cookie sheets that are too thin. I use half-sheet pans (the same thing used to make the thin cake used to make a jelly roll), and I line them with a Silpat. I never have to grease the sheets, and the Silpat provides an extra layer of insulation, so the cookies cook more evenly.

And I only wish I could have a boyfriend that even remotely looked as good as James Franco...with or without facial stubble. :)

HUGS...

Yeah, I see it. Especially in his long hair phase. That one picture I have of him... I should post it. He looks like such a god in it.

Freshly baked cookies and a James Franco lookalike for a boyfriend... some people just have it all!

Good for you for making homemade cookies. I have a friend who actually loves his chocolate chip cookies burned on the bottom! Did you put nuts in them? I love 'em with walnuts.

I could never get into Six Feet Under. The characters just weren't very appealing to me.

I have had cookies turn out like that. Frustrating, isn't it?

Please post your reaction to 6 Feet Under. I've never seen it, but from all the talk on here about it I'm beginning to wonder if I, too, should check it out.

I watched Religulous, you should totally watch it! It's an awesome movie. I think I'm going to go rent all the Oscar nominated movies. I feel so left out.

I've burned many a cookie. I think it's a gene passed down from my mother.
