The results

#1 True. I was giving some love to the neighbor's arthritic great dane. As I was hugging the dog, he freaked out and wailed on my head. When Duke, the dog's name, was done, he had torn the scalp from my head. The doctors sewed it back up and I wore a kind of bandage-slash-cap thing for a couple weeks. I remember the throbbing pain. It was Easter, 1977.

#2 Lie. Congrats to Polt, Dirk, Abnitude and Devo. I had already bought a car and gotten a ticket (for driving without a license) by the time I was 16.

#3 True. It wasn't called LeMans, but was the hospital's class for couples. I went with Em and her husband and participated in both the class and the birth of Em's children. We garnered more than a few raised eyebrows in that class.

#4 Tru-ish. This could be a family tease as well. I don't expect the folks to either confirm or deny this, lol.

#5 True. Someone told me once that the shell was edible so I tried it. I like the slight "dirt" taste that comes with the husk and enjoy the crunchiness. The unsalted ones are best.

Thanks for joining me on this edition of Truth or Lie.

I'll believe you on the peanut shells. Don't think I'll try that myself.

Big time OUCH on Number 1!

My parents did not buy me a car either, but did help with a downpayment. What was your first car, torn? Mine was a Vega. Such a sad little car, but I remember it fondly.

So you didn't mean LeMans the European Car race. You meant Lamaze the child birth method. That is totally different. It is not surprising that Peanut shells taste like dirt, they do grow underground.

Yes, Ed, I was going to cry "foul" on "Lemans" too.

But actually I can see Torn at Lemans or in Lamaze.

Told you I sucked at this.

When I get done traveling through bartending rememberances, I may try this too. I'm glad you said what you did on my post. The truth was I lived for the after hours, which sometimes didn't stop until noon of the next day. (or later) It's good to know you.

I still think I'm right on three. However, if my son wants to know where he was conceived, he will be very disappointed.

I did this yesterday and didn't realise it hadn't published until just now. I picked #2 ... really! It seemed the most ordinary. I, too, thought you were referring to a racing course.

I am no expert, but I am going to guess that slight "dirt" taste comes from dirt. I am not sayin', I am just sayin'.

Alas, another quiz failed. sigh

WHoo-HOOO! I rock! I guessed right and was the first to guess right! (doing the Happy-I-Guessed-Right-And-Most-Definitely-Rock dance).

You know, you're coming up on the 30th anniversary of your scalp trauma. Outta go celebrate, or something. :)

HUGS....

I totally missed the boat on this whole thing. I think I would have guessed the drive-in theater one.

And it's too bad about #1 and #5. They both sound painful (at different ends of the body).

All those hours of reading Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys pay off once more.

I also missed the whole quiz. In hindsight, if I had the patience to review the items repeatedly, I would have possibly voted for #2 since it seemed the most banal of the five items. I assumed you meant Lamaze and was willing to let sleeping dogs lie.

oh great. you're totally gonna think i cheated because i commented with my answer after you'd already posted the answers. but i scrolled down to the last post i'd read, and then came up to the most current.

*sigh*

Blast! You really eat them with the shell on? ...well then. I'll have to try it now.

You are entirely welcome, sir.
I think Blogger ate my comment again. Sigh...It's enough to bring on a Divattack.

About #1 That sounds totally painful. Guess that's why you're called "Torn" Yuk, Yuk
