Mundane Monday

This is why I should stop writing every day. It's mundane, how can you stand it? You totally have my permission to skip this post. Heck we should be watching the Obamarama anyway, shouldn't we?

I had to get out of the house yesterday since the housecleaner was coming. I had a list of errands to run and I wanted to squeeze in a movie too. It's been snowing for three days straight but it's okay because the temperature rose to minus 10C, so I didn't even wear my tuque. Last thursday morning when I went to work it was minus 29C, so now minus 10 seems practically warm. Weird. I had to run over to Canadian Tire to return the shower head we had bought on Saturday. Two of the little spray points were out of whack and squirted the water sideways. It was made in China, but I'm still surprised they didn't squirt water through it first before selling it. It was a pretty easy exchange. After that I went to the post office and drug store and had lunch at McDonalds. Why oh why do I get sucked into going there? I blame the coupons this time, they sent me a bunch last week so lunch came cheap. I was near the AMC22 so I popped in to see what was playing and decided to see a matinee of Slumdog Millionaire. What a satisfying film. I cried twice in it and absolutely loved the music. There's a scene at the beginning that was MADE for me and I laughed and squirmed ridiculously in my seat. I'll just say this - it's a moment with a whole lotta poo. After the movie I went back home to shovel some more snow (It has been snowing for four days straight) and arrived to discover the housekeeper hadn't come. I could have stayed home and cozy after all. I'm glad I went out though, this winter cocooning thing can get depressing.

The only thing I like at McDonalds is the french fries, and they usually aren't worth the trip.

Glad to hear you are getting out of the house, though.

Your writing is good. You take the mundane aspects of life and make them interesting.

I saw "Slumdog Millionaire" last night, too. The poo scene was terrible and wonderful at the same time, kinda like your poo posts. What a great movie, huh? The entire audience was still and silent through the closing credits, too. Those who haven't seen it yet will have to go to find out why. :D

Mundane doesn't necessarily mean boring, so if you feel a need to write, then write. If you don't, then don't.

I never tried to make myself write every day, because then it would be too much like work to me. And my schedule is too whacked out for it to work well. Still, I can see where it would be a useful writing exercise.

It's a sad state of affairs when we rejoice as it nears freezing. I concur.

Again, a post mentioning poo. What's up with you? Freud would have a field day. : )

We rejoiced about 33 degrees recently. Sounds like I'll have to seek out a cinema showing "Slumdog Millionaire," though not necessary for the opening scene.

Maybe I'll look for an Au Bon Pain or something on the way...

Getting out in the cold can be the best thing to do - staying inthe warm is lovely, but feels so much better once the cold has been re-experienced!

Yeah that scene! The audience reaction was really funny. That kid was devoted wasn't he?

Yeah, kind of boring, but we all have those days - most days, in fact. It's funny, though, at the beginning of the post you said it snowed for three straight days. At the end, you upped it to four days. Hmmm...

...If you had the luxury of time why didn't you clean your house yourself?

I understand the leaving the house while the cleaning lady is there because, well if you're there it's awkward, but if you're not then how do you know they aren't rummaging through your stuff?

As much as I would love someone else to clean my house, I'd never trust anyone to do it.

I'm looking forward to seeing Slumdog Millionaire. From what I've heard from you and others, its a quality film. And even a poo scene!?!?!?
