Pavilion of infinite pleasantness

I finally found some cookies that are peanut butter centric. As I've mentioned before, there are no Nutter Butter cookies up here and if you want traditional peanut butter cookies, you'll have to make them. Must be something cultural in Quebec. I do know that Quebecers think of peanut butter as a breakfast item. Something to decorate the toast with. Anyway, these are not so bad but why oatmeal? And why Pirate? Was this a pirate recipe?

I took another stroll through the botanical gardens Monday. At this time of year you can go every week and you'll see something different. Later blooming tulips were in presence and you know I can't resist a shot of those beauties. The lilacs were all in bloom too though they are less photogenic. Just walking through the grove of lilacs made me drunk on their fragrance.

The apples and cherries were in full regalia, I was so happy to visit at just the right time to see them so fantastically festooned. They don't smell though, they just look pretty.

I noticed this sign in the Chinese pavilion. That's pretty much how I feel about the botanical gardens. Then my inner teenager came out. It made me smile and think what a great euphemism for the pecker. How about this for a pick up line: Wanna come over and check out my pavilion of infinite pleasantness?

The tulips are gone here until next year. Don't you wish the flowering trees could stay around all summer? Yes I would like to check out that Pavilion. :) ed

I knew a colleague in North Carolina who used the euphemism "Purple-Helmeted Warrior of Love", but Pavilion of Infinite Pleasantness works, too.

I noticed in Toronto they had baked beans on a breakfast buffet! I asked my Canadian friend about it, and she said, "It's a Quebec thing."

Silly Canadians. :)

HUGS....

This is the same country that puts mayo on French fries, so what can I say? But those cookies look a great deal like my second-favorite Girl Scout cookie, Do-Si-Dos. (Cmon, nothing beats Thin Mints. From the freezer.)

I love the "drunk on their fragrance" idea in this post. I used to have some french lilacs growing outside the bathroom window. Never had to use an air freshener when they were in bloom.

I also love the "wonder" that I find in your posts. You really enjoy life and the things you find in it. I love that about you.

I'd kill to see a fucking flower here, man! Crazy Alberta weather! I love that you love the Botanical Gardens because then I can also enjoy them!

If someone wanted me to check out his pavilion of infinite pleasantness, I'd be expecting to examine a different body part. In part that's just me, but, really, consider which of these two sentences make more sense:

I approached him from behind and saw the outlines of his pavilion of infinite pleasantness clearly through his tight jeans.

or

Is that a pavilion of infinite pleasantness in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Sure, he might promise a pavilion of infinite pleasantness, but it's probably more likely a kiosk of limited reward.

I suspect the peanut butter for breakfast thing is Canada wide, as they have the peanut butter packets in the basket with the jams and jellies for your toast at breakfast in Vancouver and Victoria as well.

I'm really tempted to take a roadtrip north, so I can extend the lilac season. It's just about over here. Like you, I find the scent intoxicating. I've been sleeping with a bunch by my bed.

Frankly I'd find an offer to see someone's pavilion of infinite pleasantness a bit daunting.

I'm going on a day trip to the mountains this weekend and I'm hoping for lilacs to be blooming. I love that smell too!

Mmm, I think peanut butter and oatmeal cookies sound wonderful! Great photos.

Peanut butter is definitely a breakfast item...on toast with jam or honey. But it's also a quick lunch item....on bread with the same jam or honey. And when it comes to cookies, I'll have mine any way you want to serve it to me.

Those cookies look just like the girl scout cookies that Birdie referenced. SO good! I love these cookies, even more than Thin Mints. (blasphemy, I know.)

I have had peanut butter for breakfast many times, but usually on a sandwich with jelly. My son eats a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter for breakfast nearly every day.

LOL @ GayProf for his "kiosk of limited reward" comment. Leave it to Tornwordo to make "pavilion of infinite pleasantness" into something sexual. But you know, it works.

Very original pick-up line....LOL
the answer is 'sure!'

And how many times do you get to use the word "festooned" in a sentence?

What a beautiful regalia indeed.

Yay to those fancy tulips and all those flowering trees - and yah, thanks for sharing them to extend our season! I do like this idea of following the lilac blooming as it moves ever northward...but how much sadder when it finally ended, what with all the dead polar bears and everything.

Those do look suspiciously like Do-Si-Does (my preference over Thin Mints, tho I haven't tried them from the freezer before).

I thought a pavilion was something one strolled through. Perhaps it's a spire or an obelisk of infinite pleasantness of which we speak...?
