Because a list is easier than prose

Things on my mind these days:

* How spring is getting squashed back. Three snowy days coming up this week.

* Wondering if I should quit smoking before or after New York in May.

* Running numbers to get through the summer on projected revenue. (Running numbers is a sickness, I recommend that you don't get started)

* Thinking about what I'd do if I win tomorrow's 38 million dollar lottery. It's this part that's worth the price of the ticket.

* Show the dog love everyday. I keep reminding myself that her time here is short. The downside is she's getting fat.

* Global warming, spouse's work woes, subway etiquette.

* The blog. What to do. What to write about.

* Trying to stop dreaming about the weekend and really experience the present.

* The damn bitch upstairs that ran her laundry at 11 last night.

I play the lottery too. People tell me I'm stupid for thinking I might win. They say I have a better chance at being struck by lightning. But I don't want to be struck by lightning. LOL. Somebody will win, it just could be me. I like the rush I get thinking about how much better my life would be if I had enough money to buy what I want and go anywhere I feel like going. Hope you win Torn, then you'll be on permanent vacation. Also, if your like me, you'll move to a warmer place and never have to see snow ever again. Good Luck.

No smoking in NYC bars.

As if you needed another reason.

Quit smoking asap. You know how bad it is...
"The lottery is a tax for people who can't do math". Every time I think about getting a ticket, I remember what my sister-in-law told me...

It's amazing how we all associate food with love, even with pets.

I buy my lottery tickets for 52 drawings at a time, assuming I'm going to lose the first 51 times.

Lottery = desperation tax.

Snooze is right. And food is the only love I'm getting these days.

As for the blog -- don't fix what ain't broke. (But I can relate to the whole what to write about dilemma.)

you know, the flat place of which you spoke... seems like a lot of folk are in it.

And I'm talking about the blogs.

Maybe my priorities are changing in life, cause it cheered me up to no end when I saw my first robin the other day.

Your blog is rubbing off on me.

It's funny, when I feel guilty that I am not showing Cat enough love it's because I don't spend enough time playing with him (rather than feeding him). Kitty soccer, however, gets less interesting over time for me than him.

I suggest waiting to quit smoking. Traveling (while fun) is also stressful and you would just be tempted to start again.

I remember looking out over the city atop of Mt. Royal several years ago.

My then-BF spread out his hand and said: "You see ALL those people? The chances of winning the lotto is ONE in all of that."

That visual packed a wallop somehow.

hm. Come to think of it now, you'd think we'd be doing better things on 'lover's lookout' than discussing the laws of probability.

When you gonna be in NY again? We'll be there Memorial Day weekend.

Buying tickets for Wednesday's lottery is a waste of time. I'm going to win it, so you just need not bother.

I love what you said about the lottery. Sadly, I would be the bitch doing laundry at eleven, and totally clueless if you mentioned it. Remember the leg hair in the tub incident?

I'd say quite smoking years ago, but you know where I stand on that.

Torn,

If you win the lottery, can I be your f/t cook, butler, chauffeur and/or man Friday? I don't need much, just a corner w/a blanket and an internet connection!

Oh, I would just let Sara get as chunky as she wants.
I love the way you bring us down to earth at the end of the reverie.

Re: blog
Go with the flow, tornwordo. We will follow wherever your heart and mind want to take us. You are just a treasure to read each day...whatever you decide to share.

I am in a terrible state of denial about global warming...not that it is NOT happening, but I just am not ready to hear more reports of penguins and polar bears dying, ice caps melting, and pending global catastrophe.

I wouldn't have picked you as a smoker for some reason. Just quit, NOW. It's filthy and disgusting.

Sometimes there is nothing to blog about so you smoke another cigarette.
