Weekend update

I told Blobby that they should have a poutine and a Montreal smoked meat before they left town. Just talking about that made me hanker hard (just made that up) for a poutine. Luckily the place that has the best in town (imho) is just around the corner at the Old Montreal Pool Room. We walked over there with Georgie and sat outside in the beautiful weather to eat it.

I got mad at cocktail hour because when I went to get the ice out of the freezer, what did I find? The ice cube tray had been put back with one cube left. Some things you let go, but some things require calling people out on. Here's me calling Serge out on it. That's his "who me" look as he eats the chips I just served him.

For those who asked. Plus it's not all that bad looking. Well it's bad looking, but not revolting or anything. Good thing too because it'll probably be months before it looks like the others.

It rained overnight Friday and in the morning I saw that it had via my rain gauge. I thought, "At least it did it while I was asleep." Then I realized that's the first time I've ever had that sentiment. Growing up in Southern California meant that rain was a rare event and one that I cherished. I lived for rainy days. Now, after ten years out here, I've become blasé about it. And what excites me now is what Southern California weather usually is. So the graphic above has made me excited about this upcoming week.

I took him on a really long walk and then he was all tuckered out. He spent all afternoon on the couch all curled up like this. I swear he sleeps 18 hours a day, that dog. This is a plus in my book.

Ha! Had to de-lurk to scold you for not telling us non-French Canadians (heck not even Canadian) what's a poutine. Found it, and the wiki pic looks exactly like yours. Sounds tasty. Must try it sometime.

Okay, the finger pic is not gross. But still. The Georgie pic made up for my uneasiness.

You've added poutine to my "must-do" list. Hey! That's why I must go to Canada! That, and to see my blogger buddies. One of these days I'm going to find my way up there.

Ice cube trays, empty milk cartons, or vacant spice bottles.... all reasons to call someone out; all vital to one's well being.

Our dog Sophie sleeps about that amount too!!! Geez, I'm glad we humans don't need that much......would be no sense to get out of bed at all!

So who got the last ice cube and who had a warm drink?
The nail will probably grow in a bit distorted to start with but will eventually sort itself out, that will be one nail less to nibble!!!!

Hanker Hard? Oh boy. That's a bit much for a Monday morning. Or is it??

Growing up in New Mexico, rain was even more rare than SoCal. I never even owned an umbrella until I went to graduate school.

A plate of poutine sounds really good right now.

We get rain all the time, and I still don't own an umbrella. Well, I might, but I wouldn't know where to find it.

Looking forward to get me some poutine later this week. :)

Mmmm poutine and Montreal smoked meat sandwich! *Slurp*

The finger looks less gross than I expected. Maybe I've seen too many gross things in my life and I'm desensitized? :o)

Tazzy sleeps about 18 hours a day too. At least. The awake time is waiting for food and treats and giving us his beggar face.

Empty ice cube trays are right up there with unchanged toilet paper rolls, mere dribbles left in the milk carton and all those other little niggly details that make up a marriage! Glad I'm not the only sufferer.

A SoCal lad without an automatic ice maker? wtf?

I tried potine the last time I was up there, and it wasn't my first love, but the fresh bagels and the Vietnamese sandwiches... the breads are to live for

I have to keep looking at your finger photo in order to lose my appetite after reading about poutine

I'm suddenly hankering hard for poutine too. Love the Montreal Pool Room hotdogs and poutine, but didn't know they were a chain.

I'm so looking forward to the heat that's coming our way. Finally!

I heart my ice maker as much as any other thing about my fridge. I just couldn't go back to trays again. Even in the old one where the ice maker was broken, I "splurged" on buying ice.

That picture with the ice tray is awesome. I try not to nit-pick, but that would get to me. Come on, Serge. Don't do something that negatively impacts cocktail hour.

Love, love, love Georgie.

Poutine just wasn't in the cards for me. I just could not do it.

The nail looks way better than the other day, actually. It looks like you almost have one now.
