Alcatraz, fisting and dancing
I've been working hard planning next month's vacation schedule. We're going to spend five days in San Francisco before we head up to Lake Tahoe for the week long family reunion. It feels like there is way too much to do before we leave but one day at a time, one day at a time. There you see the layers of stuff on my desk with our Alcatraz tickets. That's part of the City Pass that I purchased, which is a tourist deal that gives you unlimited public transportation (including the cable cars) plus admission to some of the city's greatest attractions. I can't wait to take Serge to the Exploratorium.
I uploaded the pictures all at once and blogger isn't very good at respecting the order of things hence the closing Georgie shot coming second today. Who's a good boy? Notice how I framed the shot sans anus. Much prettier that way. Speaking of anus, Serge found the most horrific video on-line from a sex site. (Let's not ponder how and why he found it.) The video is intended to ramp up your appetite for such things and then get you to pay to access more like it. Maybe I'm not a proper gay, but I thought it was GROSS. And if you know me, that's saying a lot. It goes without saying that it's not safe for work, and here's the link if you dare. (What is that thing that comes out toward the end??????)
The sun is setting in line with our living room now. Makes tv watching difficult with the sun in your eyes until 9pm. The sunsets are nice though. You can see the now defunct video store across the street, which continues to sadden me daily. They're gutting the place now. I went over to one of the two remaining outlets for this company and rented three films. Turns out two of the three I had already rented. Sigh. This was another thing I liked about the place across the street - they could tell me if I had rented that movie before, but apparently that information didn't get transferred over. I'm in a quandary if I want to use a mail Netflix type service or what. I can just order movies from the tv cable service itself so maybe that'll be what we end up doing.
Here are the blooming chives. Of the several herbs I planted last year, the chives survived the winter. And they make such pretty flowers too. Oh I almost forgot. One of the movies I rented was Napoleon Dynamite. I'm sure I've had it in my hands at least a dozen times at the video store only to have something else catch my eye instead. Well I finally watched it and loved it. Then I watched it again with Serge. And I watched that dance scene at the end like three more times. So hilarious. I kept thinking, "That's how I dance." Then when I told Serge that, he said, "You only wish you could dance that well!" Thanks honey, I love you too.

We are going to SF in Sept, I'll be interested to hear the details about your trip. Do you have your hotel yet?
No... I refuse to watch the video... I will not...
You know I can't resist the link...
I think you’ll like the Alcatraz tour. I found it very interesting. I hope your ticket includes the audio tour. Alcatraz has a great view of the city.
Holy Sh!t what did I just see? That guy needs to take an anti-inflammatory stat.
Wow! What an educational clip. I always thought a "rosebud" was simply the anus itself, I didn't realize it was that flowery-looking thing that came out. But seeing it once is enough. Thank you very much. BobVT
No, I'm no prude yet I couldn't watch that whole video, and it has nothing to do with the fact it's morning. I'm with you on declaring it gross.
I haven't been renting many videos since I've been in Montreal, but I recall how, in Halifax, I often would end up renting the same video and only figuring out as I started watching. Obviously, my video store didn't track what I rented. It drove me nuts that I have such poor memory for movies.
Let me thank you once again for warning me about your links. No, I did not click it. Comments above support my decision. But you should include a link to "I Dance For You" so we can compare dance styles.
Alcatraz! You'll love it. And, yes, he's a cutie boy.
In all the times I have been to SF, I have yet to visit Alcatraz. Each time, I mean to, but then I sorta forget about it.
For me, one of my favorite spots is Fort Point. Not that many tourists seem to visit, but I think it's great. You get to roam around a Civil War-era fort all on your own without pesky guides or annoying reenactors (There would be basically nothing to reenact given the fort saw no battles). Plus the views of the bay and the bridge are astounding.
Is it terrible that I grew up in CA and never did make it to Alcatraz? The chives are beautiful! p.s. I used to blog and followed you forever, and now I'm back.
the video...yeah, I went there...ummmmmmmmm...well...uhhhhhhhhh...ouchie?
the "napoleon dynamite" dance scene reminded me of "you should be dancing" in "saturday night fever". I only WISH I could meet a guy that danced that well!
been to SF, but never alcatraz. make sure serge doesn't leave you there "accidentally".
Curiosity almost got the cat, but I bailed on the link at the last minute. :) I'm sure it's disgusting, so I'll spare myself the nightmares.
San Francisco is on my list of places to see!
Napoleon Dynamite is one of my favorite movies ever! For ages, I kept calling it Nate Disaster and the kids would correct me. It still makes me laugh.
Your sun sets at 9? It is still a little light out here at 11. I mean, you can't get a tan then but you could probably read a large print book outside at 11.
Fisting and dancing at Alcatraz? It was a federal prison, so I'm sure somebody did both there. . .
The island should be beautiful when you visit with lots of flowers in bloom. Be sure to walk around the island after you go through the prison.
For some kicks, rent some of the movies filmed in SF: "Bullitt", the Dirty Harry films, "A View to a Kill", "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home," "Vertigo," any of the "Tales of the City" miniseries. Then visit some of the locations featured -- or see how many you spot without planning it!
Georgie is as adorable as ever. How well does Serge dance? And my word verification is "sestea" -- the Southern version of Nestea?
I clicked the link. Serge, what kind of pervert are you?!?
WARNING: Have an air sickness bag handy if you click the link. Butt sex is one thing, HOWEVER. . .I think the medical term for what you'll see is "rectal prolapse."
I just loved San Francisco. The first time I went, I was struck by how friendly people there were, complete strangers talked to me as if they have known me for years. And the food... !
I must be an improper gay too, lol, because I dared not click on the link (but I really wanted to).
I'm not much of a dancer myself but if I saw someone dancing like that, I'd jump right in.
I second the recommendation for Fort Point. Amazing views!
California again! Lucky!
The first time I watched ND I didn't get it. The second, third, fourth time I thought it was a riot. Vote For Pedro...
Oh dear, I clicked the link, that can't possibly be good for you. Shouldn't that stay inside. And he's quite limber. Yes, gross. Now it's in my computer history.
no WAY. I'm still getting over two girls one cup. I've learned my lesson from you (only took me 25 years).
No one will go to Vegas with me this summer. Oh how I wish you could.
I am opting to not click on your link. But thanks for the pic of the George man.
I am also opting not to click on the link.
Have a great time in San Francisco -- I loved it when I was there!
(P.S. Georgie is adorable.)
Took your advice and didn't click. On the DVD thing, I would recommend Netflix, as you get a very wide availability, and it's not the list of films chosen by the various networks. The cost is not that much, and with the streaming video, you can watch a portion, and if you don't like or have seen it before, you've not wasted much time.
Enjoy SF. I went to SF State, many years ago. Love that city. Alcatraz is a fun tour. When I lived there, it was still off limits, but in the mid 80's I took a tour.
Link is definitely GROSS!
On the first day of my visit to SF, I went up to the Coit Tower atop Telegraph Hill. The view from there is magical.
I love the Exploratorium. What area are you staying in? I haven't been to SF in years and I adore it. I can live on sourdough and wine while there. And I have.
How's the doggie screen door working out, btw?
