I pulled out the coffee cards from my wallet. I think the whole loyalty card concept has the opposite effect on me. Yesterday was embarrassing as I pulled them out to search for the one for Marcellos and dropped them. The cashier was nice though and laughed and said, "Drink coffee much?" The other patrons waiting to pay for their coffee didn't join in the laughing. In taking this picture I learned that I have two freebies coming to me. Also that there's too many darn cards in my wallet.

I love it.
You should have pretended you were having a nicotine fit. Looked all wide eyed and nervous as you rounded up the cards. The patrons would have kept out of your way.
I don't have any coffee cards but I have a CVS card, a local grocery card, a Kroger card, a Farm suply store card, and a McDonalds Arch card. ed
The little mini-credit card-like thingies that dangle from my key chain (to get customer discounts at various stores) are a pain in the butt, too.
Those cards are a great reason for going through all the hassle of having them punched. There is a free cup of coffee at the end of the tunnel.
I am not loyal, I don't collect cards. lol
Good LORD...I hope you don't keep you wallet in your back pocket - with that many cards, it must be several inches thick, and that'll wreak havoc on your back...
That's not loyal, that's unfaithful! It's like George Clooney in Burn After Reading except with coffee. Somebody's gonna find out and your gonna be on a plane to Venezuela but on the bright side, I bet it'll be way better coffee.
Is that a coffee card collection in your pocket or are ya....
It's okay to be loyal to many, many different coffee shops.
And if I had been in line behind you, I would have laughed with you and the cashier
Ed: McDonald's has a card?
Torn, you must be a mess without your caffeine. I note that several cards are duplicates. Get a barista to transfer your punches to one card. And keep your cards in a separate holder!
We're drowning in paper. Bank statements, 401k, income taxes, property statements, warranties, receipts...
And now, loyalty purchase cards. Damn!
I'm just as bad. I have a Jiffy Lube card in my wallet.
Holy crap!
classy. I have a similar thing going on with hotel room key-cards...I hate handing them back in...much prefer to collect them....ridiculous really.
Damn -- that's a whole lot of coffee drinking there, Torn.
(P.S. Love the new profile pic -- so handsome!!)
Birdie, McDonalds has an Arch Card. You put money on it and then can get through the line quickly (yeah right) then when it gets low you can reload more money on it.
I've been trying to streamline my wallet with all the credit cards and gift cards to no avail; which always ends up doing a number on wearing out my back pocket.
That's pretty bad. And I thought I like coffee.
Well, at least you use them. I usually take the cards out of my wallet and end up with a drawer full of cards with one stamp on them.
Knowing how fiscally conservative you & Serge can be, I'm surprised you don't just make coffee at home and save yourself like $100. a month.
Spouse tried to start buying coffee out but I put a stop to it. I bought him a nice stainless steel thermos (very swank-looking) for $10. at Target and now he makes coffee at home and takes it with him for a fraction of the cost of coffee shops.
Mark :-)
Oh, no! You need a disloyalty card...something that all the places will honor and punch...so that you can just randomly claim free cups of java from different places now and then.
Hey here's an idea to make someone rich: create a universal loyalty card system that keeps track of purchases from every program like this, electronically, using a single card.
Of course, that'd eliminate the joys of having a friend who works at such a place, and tends to go a little stamp-crazy.
Freak.
I only have four cards.
I am trying to enter the loyalty card
given to me at the restaurant. I've entered the website the loyalty card says to enter, but I can't find the site on the web. Please advise.
