This n that

Those of you who know VUBOQ know that he's into making pottery lately. Well, he decided to give some of his pottery away, I can't remember why exactly, to be a fabulous individual perhaps, and invited readers to specify something they'd like. Well I wanted the pencil holder since my setup was so mickey mouse. So here you see the new, one of a kind, hand-made pottery pencil holder. And then because he is so giving, he threw in a coffee mug that he made as well. I am at this very moment enjoying my joe in that cup. (I'm wondering if the dishwasher is appropriate for the cup now. )

I told my story to everyone yesterday. They were all surprised that you can rob a supermarket with little or no consequences. It's interesting to talk about because the students had their own stories of robberies to tell. And we agreed that you never know how you will react in such a situation until it happens. We also knew that the thing you clearly should have done, like me trying to trip the guy instead of tackling, is only apparent after the fact.

Yesterday the dog was better than I've seen her in months. I came home from my last class and spouse said the same thing. Lately we arrive home and she remains a lifeless lump only lifting her head to see who came in. Yesterday she was her old self excitedly greeting us when we came in. Spouse even said, "We can't take her when she's like this." Oh and he found a mobile vet who will come to our house when the time has come. I'm glad, I don't want her last waking moments in a place she hates more than anything.

My dog was having a hard time walking and on D day I had to carry her. I got her in the car ok, all 70 lbs. At the vets I decided to ask the helper dudes to bring her in. They got out to the car and stared, I guess the one guy didn't want to pick her up or didn't understand what was required. The two dudes had cross words, and I'm like, "just pick her up, how hard is that?" They marred my memory of her last minutes, for sure.

I'm glad the old girl has some vitality still in her. She'll let you know when the time is right.

Homemade pottery is nice. I'm wondering if the Coffee mug is safe to drink from? Sara is such a good Doggie and she wants to stick around one last Christmas.
Maybe you should go to the market in pairs or even groups. Perhaps take a self-defense class? ed

The dishwasher may affect the glaze on the pottery.

and always lots of love to Sara!

Glad you like the pottery! The mug is safe to drink from and, as far as I know, it is dishwasher safe. I'd only put it on the top rack though.

*smooches*

I'm sure you've already done this, but what about bringing that traveling vet to the house to make sure there isn't something simpler to be done about Sara's energy levels or other issues.

Perhaps some kind of puppy vitamin or bladder control med, that would improve her quality of life and help you guys to enjoy her company (and vice versa) a little longer.

In that terribly, awfully truthful, and in the end, wonderful book I told you about they did it at home, face to face. It seemed to me the kindest way. Here: "This is unmitigatedly awful and not so at all; I remind myself this is exactly what I'd want, for someone to love me enough not to allow me to live in pain when I don't want to; that it's part of our work-- this is what Dr. Kaiser (their vet) has said to us-- part of our stewardship, seeing Arden out of this world."

There's more, but it's hard to transcribe and cry at the same time.

I'm thinking of you and wishing you the best.

In my household, everything goes in to the dishwasher. If it can't survive, it isn't worthy of keeping around.

Obviously, your thief was going for a small score on just one register; but my cousin the cop once told me that major grocery stores have more cash on hand than most bank branches. Don't know if it is true, but it sounds plausible.

RJ says it well. And I don't think I could bear to read that book, but those of us who have been through it can identify. I especially relate to the part about thinking it's how I hope someone will care for me. Okay, it appears I can't even comment on the subject without crying.

Very nice pottery! Me likey.

That's excellent news that Sara is feeling a little better. And good, if somber, news about the mobile vet.

Nevermind he dishwasher for your cups...Look at the dust on your keyboard!! You need the bristle attachment on the vacuum and then q-tips to get the inbetween keys, or you could get some of those foam topped ones special for the job. (I go insane over the fact I can see all the fluff on the bottom on my Mac keyboard and I can't reach it. I'm banned from unscrewing the back off to try.)

I do like the pencil holder.

The pencil holder is gorgeous!

As for Sarah, do you really want to wait until she is so badly in pain that she can't stand? [that's what my vet told me when I brought my cat in for the final journey and she had been in better form that day] it's great though that you found a vet to come to the house. My cat did hate that final trip to the vet.

Maybe it's not her time after all. I'm a big baby, I don't even want to think about her not being there.

Such a pretty girl.

When my cat had to be put to sleep I made the decision to get someone to do it in-home. It was very expensive, but worth every penny. She went on the bed on her favorite blanket. The vet was amazing (and really handsome to boot). And you'll know when it's time, and she'll let you know when it's time.

But I feel for you.

told you someone will come to the house! I have had my animal's ashes returned to me and I keep them but I have been told I am morbid.

miss you!

Love the pottery as it seems to go with the decor. What porn site is that on your monitor? ;-) I am so glad you came across a mobile vet. And I love your thinking behind it. (((((Torn)))))

(I couldn't comment under my Wordpress ID, hence my post under Blogger)
