Turnover

So stinky weirdo guy is really moving out at the end of the month. He told me he's either going to Vietnam or Costa Rica. What I thought but did not say was, "Oh fleeing the country eh?" Well good riddance even though he was a pretty good tenant. What I mean by that is that he paid his rent and was only late the last couple of months. Anyway, what that means is that it's time to field calls for new tenants.

Here's the ad.

I don't know what it is, but every person who calls asks a question that is clearly answered in the ad. I always politely say, "As it says in the ad......." to answer their question. Also, and this irritates the hell out of me, they want to change something before even coming over to see the place. My favorite is, "Are you willing to bring down the price?" Um, we've had 20 calls in one day, I don't think it will be necessary. My other favorite was, "It's furnished but are you going to change the furniture since it's used?" Um, no. You can sit on a chair that other rumps have sat in.

Costa Rica or Vietnam? What's wrong with Outer Mongolia or Niger? Is there anyway you'd agree to tear out that wall? Does it have Valet service? Next time ad to the list: No princesses need apply. ed

That's a nice place!

Amazing how it looks so much like the one I stayed in, I thought for a minute that it was until I looked closer at the pics. Let me know if no one moves in until the first, I've still got airmiles and would like a dose of fall. Ha!

The General Public can never be bothered to read anything. Which is one of the many reasons I hate them.

Loved the note about cats: purrr. Is this to provide Sara with some exercise? Nice place! I'd take it!

People are funny. Well on the first few calls, anyway, By call number twenty funny usually has become irritating

If you're getting 20 calls a day, perhaps the price is too low? It looks like a lovely place! I can't believe all that stuff is free. The price of heat alone. But then you have WIFI, too? That's unheard of!

I most appreciate the homey touch (and handily-placed) box of Kleenex.

Looks pretty great to me...last time I stayed at the W, but this would do me just fine too!

You might get lots of applicants if McCain wins the US election.

I wish that I could live in Montréal.

Oh I would so love to rent that place for 3 months. Sadly, I have too many obligations. Maybe sometime in the future.

I like the wiggly mirrors in the shower. How did you adhere them to the tile? Do you ever get mold issues?

Oh, I guess not lately since the stinky man probably doesn't use it so much.

Smell your next potential tenant, please? For me? Just a little sniff sniff?

I'd bite.

It looks so fresh and modern. No wonder you get lots of calls.

Man, those are some dumb questions.

Mark :-)

Have you considered listing on university-housing websites?
Your 3-month minimum is perfect for students and you'd probably attract a more reliable class of tenant. The 24 bus gives the place easy access to UQAM, McGill and Concordia.

so, he's leaving the country, huh? he must be in deep doo-doo.

I know just where to go when I decide to flee this life as a housewife and mom.

I am happily amused with the Ikea mirrors in the shower. Teehee. Naked mirror shower fun.

How is the job market there?
If Gramps and Vamp get elected I really need to get out of here, and that's one nice space.
Good luck finding a new tenant.
