This n that

I just showered, shat, shaved and dressed in 12 minutes. It would have been shorter had the shat been in one swoop, but no, there were a couple curtain calls.

Nude dancer showed up yesterday and paid the rest of the rent for November. So I can relax now until the next rent due day, which is tomorrow. Actually, I'm learning more and more about how to relax, about how to see that my thoughts and emotions are not "me", they are just processes happening within me like waves on an ocean. I'm learning to sit back and watch them rise and fall, crest and wane.

I'm learning how to see them, acknowledge them, and let them go. I must say, this book that Peter started me on is changing my life. I'm sleeping again, for one thing.

Speaking of Peter, go on over and wish him a fab birthday. He's trying to make it a "dry" one, so he would appreciate some encouragement. Go Peter, go!

It sounds like you are doing great - I've stopped telling people about that book for now at least because I was begginning to sound like a zealot for a while....so it's good that you are keeping the "word out."

Hope you have a great day!

I can't imagine getting ready in less than AT LEAST half an hour. :P

I was kinda hoping that Dancer wouldn't pay, so you could be rid of him.
Still, the money is handy...

I love the phrase "curtain call" in relation to taking a dump. That's hilarious.

Glad to hear that one of the fruits of your relaxation is returning to a better sleep pattern.

Now, if Spouse would only let you sleep... **EG**

Ya know, I think you outta just forget money for the dancers rent and have him pay you in dances. Seriously. You said he gets like 20 dollars a song right? That means you'll get like, what at least 20 dances out of it? Maybe thirty? Hell, you could require a dance a day from him. And if he's really good at it,well you could raise his rent some....

Just sayin...

You Showered, Shat, Shaved, and Dressed in 12 minutes. Great. were you going for a Guiness World Record? I'm afraid I just can't be rushed in any of those areas. It is my ME time you know? Have a Glorious Day!!!

I think Dancer just wants you to be able to afford to come to Kason's Christmas party next weekend.

So, is there any "cumulative" effect if you go to the Rental Board? In other words, it's not just that he hasn't (won't) pay December, but has consistently been late with rent?

I am with Ed. All of those are times when I don't want to be rushed.

Ok, maybe I will read this book after all. I'm still working on "State of Denial" by Bob Woodward.

I saw this and thought you might find it interesting. I did.

Am I the only one who would rather you keep the particulars of your bowel movements to yourself?

I reallly like Jon Kabat-Zinn. I used to have a series of cassettes by him ... guided meditations of varying lengths. "Wherever You Go, There You Are" is also very good.

I agree too bad he paid, but hey he makes life interesting!

I too can get ready in under 15 minutes. Oc course, you no doubt look like a million bucks when you do while I look the like the same schlep whether I take 15 minutes or 15 hours.

Sighhhhhhhhh.

(I must admit I am muey impressed -- and perhaps a wee bit jealous -- you can shoehorn a bowel movement into the whole getting ready process. THAT is quite an achievement. Time for me to raise the bar...)

That book looks interesting. Glad to hear that you're feeling less stressed about it all.
