Cake decorating

Here it is Monday morning already. I haven't stopped. Still, I got everything done I had put on my list. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at MIL's house on Saturday evening and then had FIL over for dinner for his birthday yesterday. When I was grocery shopping yesterday, I picked up a cake for Jacques' birthday. When I got home, I realized we had no frosting to write on the top of the cake. Spouse, ever the resourceful one, had a solution.

I made another very, very long video as Serge wrote the Bonne Fete Jacques on it, but it's boring. So I'll just post a pic of the final product.

Yup. Spouse is my man! Never buy those tubes! Make your own! Confectioner's sugar, butter, and a bit of milk. Food coloring for colors. Way to go, Serge!

The writing it great, but the top part with all the dots kind of looks like a bird flew over the cake.

Happy Birthday Jacques! Many more! We are so proud of your son. He is a great guy and his Spouse is a treasure.
Torn you could never make a boring video.

It tickles me that you've never made frosting before.

That stuff in a tube works in a pinch, but it tastes really weird.

Hope the birthday party was swell.

I was horrified the first time I saw what was in icing/frosting. I had no idea.

Betty Crocker is a lazy slug compared to Serge.

Sounds like the weekend ended better than it started.

That was so cute. Serge, a man of all solutions. I've never bought an icing tube.

I'm glad the weekend ended more festively than it began.

You call that a cake?! Looks like a two-bite brownie to me! Of course, I'm a hog and I like my cakes from Costco. LOL!

Great Martha Stewart-ship from Serge!! He's a handy guy to have around.

Yeah, I noticed the demure size of the cake too. What gives? Where are the Paul sized sugar blowouts of yore? Ah, youth.

I loved the vid.

Noting's better than a handyman in the kitchen, other than a handy man with a chocolate cake and frosting! Hope it's all wonderful for you!

What? No poo in this vignette? Oh wait, it is a "chocolate" cake.

What a lovely birthday muffin!
Or is it a cookie?
His hand is a large as the cake!

Dude. I love Serg. The guy is so damn resourceful. Like a gay McGuyver. With an accent. And instead of bombs he deals with cakes and ugly wood decks. Much more handy than McGuyver. McGayver!
