Some memories

Yesterday I went out and bought 2 external hard drives so that Serge and I could back up our computers and stop burning disks for that purpose every month. That meant that I could reload old photo files that I had burned onto disks years and years ago. It has been really cool looking at the 1999-2003 pictures. Those early digital photo files are so small! Anyway, I've chosen a few to trot out today, starting with our old loft.

We both miss living in the fabulous loft. It was so huge I could ride my bike around inside. Sara loved running from one end of the loft to the other too. We don't regret selling it though as the building was undivided and the unit above us was illegal. Plus it was $600 a month to heat in the winter. I think that was the last time Serge worked out even though I invite him down to the basement frequently.

When I first started teaching, I taught a new class each month. They were intensive 20 hour per week sessions and at the end of the month I always took a class photo. In many of them I have a tie on, but in the blistering summer the formal wear came off. This is my favorite one though. We are still in touch with Salvador but not Asako. The Japanese nearly always make the peace sign in my photos. I never really understood why.

Of course there are hundreds of Sara pictures which made me cry again. I loved this one where Serge had fallen asleep.

Oh and I can remember thinking I looked terrible in this picture. I don't know what kind of mental malady I had because looking at it now I think I look good. We really don't appreciate what we have until it's gone, do we?

Finally, and I can't believe we burned this onto disk, here is a video that is way way way not safe for work. Enjoy!

(You're too late - it's been deleted due to the extreme poor taste.)

Here, go do this maze instead. I made it to level four, can you?

OMG! I was about to eat breakfast but now I can't eat the sausages I've fried. I'm glad you've saved this on DVD for posterity but I'm afraid those in the future will think we are a bit strange, LOL. ed

OMG too. You know I have something like this and I was gonna send it to you, but I thought it'd be way over the top, for even you. Now I know it's not.

{{{Sara}}} I never knew she had white markings on her head, I guess with age it blended in.

Speaking of age - you are right, we're never happy with what we have until it's gone. As I grow older I think of all the days I squandered, I was young, good looking, and in fairly good shape, but did I care? No!

Great make-up job in that video. You can hardly even tell that's you and Serge.

I was going to remark that you do look good in the photo, it's just the photo quality that impairs your appearance, but that video clip is so vile that I officially retract my compliment and declare that you look pale and pigeon-chested.

Truly, that was horrible. I thought it was going to be some joke until I realized it was all too real. I will have nightmares.

WHY?!!! Seriously. They are far more delicious things in this world to eat.

WOW...that was really awful. I read your blog daily and really enjoy it...but that was really in poor taste and not at all up to your usual high standards. I am confused!!

Are you the one that inspired the people from "Two girls, one cup"?! I think you have a fetish with "THAT" thing, sometime ago was the marks on your towels and now this! I still "love" you though...

About your picture, I was listening to the gay radio the other day and the host said that we, gays, are never happy with how we look. Remember when we were young and we thought we always looked "uncool" and fat? Time flies and when you look back, those previous times were not that bad at all. So enjoy how we look now because in 10 years, we will look like "the thing" from the video

PS: Serge has not changed at all!

I need to put all our pictures onto my external hard drive. I've had one since Christmas and have no idea how to do it.

I hate that you posted that.

The pictures were fun, and I miss the loft too.

Not sure what is more disturbing, the video or knowing that my mom watched it! I feel sick!

I missed it. I guess that's a good thing since it appears that a lot of people think less of you now because of it.
You'll survive.

I generally have poor taste, so I'm sorry I missed the video. I also made it to level 4 on the maze, though. That's quite an adventure. :)

I am kicking myself for not doing my daily blog reading until this evening -- I've missed the video and have no idea what it was about (I have a general idea but with my imagination my mind is going in so many directions it is hard to focus...)

Great pics (and you look as handsome now as you did then!)

Sorry I missed it. Or maybe not?

Uh -- Based on all these other comments, I am grateful to remain ignorant of the video's content.

Great pix!

Now that you have the external drives download and install the free version of Macrium Reflect.

http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp

Lets you do complete disk imaging, did my 60GB partition and even picked up the Dell boot and restore partitions. Squashed the whole thing down to 27GB on a 750GB drive.

I keep weekly sets on there.

Great pics, and I would love living in that loft too. Hope you're doing well, and look forward to seeing more of the photos posted as you re-visit them in your burning/saving project!

As for the video; saw it earlier; not my thing, but as long as everyone else is happy---I"m thrilled lavender for them!
