We watched Rachel Getting Married on Friday night. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, it was a far darker tale than I had imagined. And so real. Almost too real. It reminded me of a Henry Jaglom film in a way, it all seemed so tragically accurate and spontaneous, this disfunction and heartbreak that infect so many families at one time or another. It's not one of those movies where it ends and you feel uplifted, no, it's more like one that haunts your thoughts for several days. I recommend it.
We had a nice din-din last night at MIL's house. Here you can see Serge guarding the deviled eggs which are quite possibly the finest egg preparation there is - that is if you don't count soufflés of course.
We sat around talking about the upcoming cruise we're taking in 79 days. Tigars, MIL's dog hung out with me most of the time. I swear that dog is even more clingy to me since Sara died. Here look how cute he is following me to see what I'm up to.
There's not a whole lot else going on around here this weekend. It's snowing again this morning, oh joy. It looks like just a dusting though, so hopefully that'll melt off by this afternoon.
Here's hoping you're enjoying a lovely weekend.

Mmm, love me some deviled eggs.
Rachael Getting Married was a good movie, like you said, very real.. It took every I had not to cry about the little brother.
The Tanorexic makes devilled eggs for every family gathering. That would be fine if she knew what she was doing. Sadly, she doesn't.
Cute Pup!
I cannot eat hard boiled eggs. It's just that overwhelming sulfur smell that does it for me.
Beat them to incorporate as scrambled or omelet and I'm fine.
I just LOVE deviled eggs. It's clear that Serge does, too, and might even growl if I reached for one, but I'd chance it just the same.
What a cute pup. Sorry about the snow!
What's on those bread rounds? (No breakfast here yet. Can you tell?)
The best part of the movie was where she gets out of rehab, arrives home and then immediately shags the best man in the basement. She really knew her priorities!
Very cute pup!
Serge looks dangerous in that shot. I like deviled eggs, but I'm not sure I like them enough to risk being attacked by Serge.
Has he had a hair cut? The head looks shorn.
I thought Rachel Getting Married was excellent. Who knew Anne Hathaway had it in her to pull that role off so convincingly? I mean, I've always liked her but she's usually in more frivolous fare than R.G.M. Heartbreakingly tragic and haunting...I like those kinds of movies.
your MIL's pup is ALMOST as cute as my schnauzer Indiana!!
I hadn't heard of Rachel Getting Married - is it in theatres or on dvd??
Tigars was saying "take me Home with you". My folks just got a doggie from the local shelter. he is afraid of his shadow and has been mistreated but after he recovers from being neutered I think he'll settle down to his new routine. Those bedeviled eggs look so delicious but I wouldn't be able to fight Serge for a taste. ed
Dig the dog. Can't stand the eggs.
I have to check out Rachel Getting Married.
I like your movie reviews. I saw Vicky Christina Barcelona after you wrote about it and really liked it.
And your upcoming cruise....Half Moon Cay was the best stop on the trip. I seriously could have stayed for a few days before leaving. It was so relaxing.
I make a mean deviled egg. A little horseradish gives an addictive zip. Now I shall have to make some.
Tigars is adorable, is that a kerchief or his collar? Very handsome.
