Weekend Update

I took my first stab at making Osso Bucco and despite it not being all that photogenic, it was absolutely fabulous. Serge didn't want his marrow either (the best part in my opinion) so I got to have that heavenly jello twice. It was super easy too. I even made the gremolata to go with. Serge wants it put on our routine meal rotation but I told him the veal cut is a bit pricey so we'll see.

It was fairly uneventful all weekend. I worked to prepare all my courses after Christmas and finished the bulk of it. I've got to get a few more listening exercises and do all the photocopying and I'll be done and I won't have to think about work until 17th of January. I've got a few classes for the next few weeks but those are already prepped, I've got maybe 20 hours left on the current contracts. So basically it's smooth sailing until April. A nice feeling.

We watched Toy Story 3 and Sex and the City 2.  I had seen them both at the cinema but Serge hadn't. We both loved Toy Story but for different reasons. Serge, having done a lot of 3D modeling on the computer, kept oohing and aahing over the lighting. I couldn't figure out what was so darn genius about it, but he was really impressed. Me, I just liked the story. As for SATC2, it was fine, but Carrie seemed like such a schrew. I just wanted to slap her and say, "Oh grow up for chrissake." Little whiny privileged white girl is not an attractive protagonist for me.

Georgie's been good. Took him across the street to get his nails clipped. They do that for free at the pet supply shop. He refuses to let me do it, but over there he hardly complains at all. I finally figured it out. He knows that he gets a cookie at the end of it so he behaves. I have got to remember that food is his big motivator. Does he really want to be on Serge's lap? Or is it a ruse to get to the plate on the table?

Have a lovely Monday peeps!

Bandit's not a lap dog - unless there's food at the table then he'll stay there all day.

Not even treats could help me with Tazzy's feet. I should have named him Spazzy instead. HA!

I've had very little sleep.

I'm so impressed about your advanced prep work. Also your osso bucco!

I haven't seen either of the SaTC but my issue was that I stopped watching the series because I found Carrie such a privileged twat. Thanks for the head's up so I will definitely avoid the movies.

Serge looks like a handsome teenager in that osso bucco picture! It's a shame how the flash bounced off the white line. Word verification was POLIN. Ugh. Looked like Palin at first glance. YUCK.

I never understood the appeal of Sex in the City. It seemed to just center on conspicuous consumption and a faux liberation.

I'm with GayProf (gee, who'da thunk I'd ever be saying that?) I never saw the addiction to Sex in the City. I watched a couple episodes and they were all so self absorbed (something I know nothing about of course!) and the writing just didn't draw me in. Eh, less money wasted at the video store.

LOVE that snuggly Georgie. I wish he and Indi could meet. I know, I gotta get bigger dreams but it's a start.

xo

I liked the man eye candy in SATC, and I kind of liked Charlotte. Not enough to see either movie, tho.

That martini glass looks as big as Serge's head! I'm sure it's just an angle of the shot thing (wink).

I could never eat bone marrow. I can barely TYPE "bone marrow" without wincing.

Ossoooo buccooooo... *drooling*
marrowwww... *still drooling*

I used to watch the early TV episodes of SATC, which I thought were funny and had fab NYC scenes. I thought they could have chosen a better Carrie though.

Serge, you really do look 14 in that top picture, dammit! Tell us where you found the Fountain of Youth!

SATC always left me colder than a frozen fish. I never understood why anyone wanted to watch a show about whiny fashion victims. Especially when the lead character looked like Mr. Ed's kid sister.

Georgie really did want what was on the table, but admit it Torn -- you were a little jealous that he was on Serge's lap, rather than you!

Rosa was always a horrible little hound bitch when I trimmed her nails until I learned to do it when she was in the tub for a bath and to give her a piece of kibble after every nail. She still wasn't super cooperative, but at least the promise of food made her put up with it.

I love all the georgie pics, and will continue to enjoy the updates. I just lost my 12+yo old 4 legged companion so seeing georgie and that adorable face gives me a lift. Thanks!
