Changes afoot

It's sunrise season again. That is, the sun rises late enough for me to catch it and the location where it breaks through the horizon is directly out the back of our place.

The trees are just beginning to put on their technicolor coats. The colors will slowly turn symphonic until the middle of October when the traditional coloring peaks here.

Did you catch the interview on 60 minutes last night? The one with the president of Iran? Ablablabla? (kidding) The interviewer seemed quite disrespectful to me, it was as if he were interviewing OJ. This is the leader of a nation, and I don't know about you, but it seems like he should at least be treated as such. I really don't understand the outrage at his intention to visit ground zero. After all, according to everything I've heard, he had nothing to do with the demise of the twin towers. The whole bit where the interviewer tried to get Ahmadinejad to say something he admired about Bush? I'm sorry, but I wouldn't be able to answer that question either. It seemed like they wanted me to think that he was an arrogant prick, but I just got the impression that the interviewer was.

True, but his country is a state-sponsor of terrorists and has been for a long time.

It just came across as a publicity stunt, which it would be, if he were allowed to go. It would be used as a propaganda tool.

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't be able to answer that question either.

You always can admire his persistence.

As much as I loath Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, you are right that as the leader of a nation, or as anyone invited on a program to be interviewed, he should have been treated with a certain level of deference. A good interviewer would have provided opportunities for Ahmadinejad to reveal himself, instead of trying to force the issue.

One minute our dear Pres is saying we need Iran to help us in Iraq then in the next breath he is saying Iran is an axis of evil.
I think it would be good PR to show the Iranian leader placing a wreath at ground zero. It would prove that the Arab world is not backing terrorists.
Bush has proved that those who don't have "newcullure" weapons are the only ones we will attack. This makes the world try to get them at all costs. Not what we should be pushing for.
The sun rises from Torn's back yard he is so lucky. LOL.

It's all part of the media spin, I think. "Let's demonize people so we can be justified into going into their country and blowing their asses off."

"When they own the information they can bend it all they want"

The nicest thing I can say about George Bush is that he...no, wait. I can't think of one thing either.

(God, I have PMS today! lol)

But Iran itself is backing terrorists. That's the problem. If this was the president of the Egypt, there wouldn't have been an issue.

I completely agree with you in regards to the 60 minutes interview.

Scott Pelley was condescending and he seemed irritated that Ahmadinejad didn't come unraveled.

Most nations in the middle east, no, make that the world, regard the U.S. as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Which, in fact, it is.

In World War II, the German regarded the French resistance as terrorists, much as we regard the Iraqi resistance as terrorists today. They want us out of their country.

So I don't really see why that justifies the interviewer being a snotty jerk.

Not that I particularly admire the pres. of Iran or his policies.

The world is really not the "good guys" against the "bad guys".

Reality isn't quite that simple.

Is it me or not that he (Ablablabla) publicly stated that Isreal needed to be wiped off the map???

........................And I also have nothing nice to say about Pres. Bush.

I've thought the same thing of Scott Pelley in the past... and I thought it again lastnight when he interviewed Ahmadinejad.

Our trees are turning too, and the gorgeous peachy-pink sunrises will start soon, I think they peak around November for us, according to my camera history.

But in Scotland, it's the time for rainbows. Saw two yesterday.

Man, I've missed a lot at this blog the last few days!

Great snippets on Friday. Great sunset.

But eff that Aqua-Vela-jad dude from Iran. Eff him big-time, that anti-semite holocaust denying douche bag.

When someone is from a government that hangs people for being gay, I respect neither the country nor the office.

Besides the fact that you are actually up at the crack of dawn (and that is a bummer) that view is a great way to start the day.
