This n that

It's better today. The insurance will cover the theft (supposedly, I won't believe it until it happens) and all the cards have been canceled and reordered. He still has to get his ID and insurance cards, but you can't do that until business hours Monday.

At least the laptop had a password entry. They'll have to format the hard drive to be able to use it. Ha! It was interesting that the police gave Serge the name of specific pawn shops to check, as they are known to be crooked. They said to go in and pretend to be interested in buying a laptop. Then check the serial numbers and if we find it, to call the police. I think Serge would rather just collect from the insurance.

Lemuel did a meme the other day and I found one of the questions interesting because I had never thought about it before: Which body part do you wash first in the shower? Lemuel answered "right thigh" and when I thought about it, I realized I always wash my left armpit first. Always. How about you? Which is the first part you wash?

I always wash my hair first. Start from the top down.

Right arm. Always. I made eggs benedict this morning? I'm wondering who inspired me to do that?! (wink)

The back of my neck.

Left side of abdomen. Always.

I was thinking about the password entry thing! I have it enabled on my laptop too and I always wonder, if I die, will my loved ones be able to access my laptop? Hehe.

Serge should just go for the insurance but wouldn't it be something to find it in a pawn shop? Might make for interesting blog entries!

That's good news about the insurance. I hope Serge was still able to enjoy the weekend.

Like CoffeeDog, I start with my hair. If we don't count hair as a body part, then I start with my feet. Apparently I go from one extreme to the other.

Just a suggestion but shouldn't the cops be the ones who look for the stolen Laptop at the pawn shops? It's called going undercover.
Here in the 21st Century it is much more likely the laptop will be sold on line probably on E-Bay.
I wash little eddie and his friends first the boys do like (need) a good cleaning. LOL.

I love that the police were trying to get him to do investigative work. Very nice.

And I wash my face first. I shave at the sink before I get into the shower, and I always want to clean my skin right after that.

Not to cause you stress, but they can take the hard drive out of the laptop, put it in an external hard drive case and attach it to another computer and use it as a hard drive.

This would bypass the password and they would have access to your data.

Just an FYI. Sorry this happened to you guys.

I start with my face, neck, ears... and then work down. I do my hair last.

I'm very glad about the insurance!

After hair, it's face. That's funny though, how everyone has a spot they start at. I guess I'm a top down girl.

I lost two laptops last month (don't ask, I just forgot them, once in a Tim Hortons and once in the train). Both were delivered back to me within a day however. I thought Montréalers are just very honest. Not in Serge's case it appears.

My head, face and hair.

I do a hair/face combination first. I hate shampooing so want to get it out of the way fast. A hold over from childhood when I hated soap running into my eyes.

Good luck with the laptop, let us know if you check the pawn shop - I love sneaky spy intrigue.

*Sigh* Liberace.

I enjoyed reading your readers' answers to the body part question. As I said in my answer I have no clue as to why, but the more I thought about it, I have a definite order of washing and I never vary. Maybe its because I'm a geezer and if I do it that way I won't forget anything. :) Now as a young'un (hey, I'm old enough to be your father!), you don't have that excuse.

On the theft, yes, the sad truth is that passwords only go so far. If they are determined, they'll find a way.

Hair first, cause I usally leave in the shampoo until I've cleaned the rest of my body.

Then, probably my chest.

I am a "top-to-bottom" kind of guy, so I wash my hair first then my face.

Glad for the insurance!
I start with the hair, and wash my face with the extra/leftover foam from the shampoo. Oh, and I'll wash your left armpit anyday.

my left arm first, always....my husband too....weird....

hair first, then left armpit. I don't soap up my whole body, unless I'm really dirty; a dermotologist told me it wasn't necessary and could be very drying.

I usually only wash the smelly bits.

Oh, and I go away for two days, and all hell breaks loose. Tell Serge I'm really sorry his stuff got swiped. That blows. Hard.

And not in a good way.

I wash my body parts right after I get out of bed. I can't tell you any details about anything that happens before about 9:30am.

I'm so sorry to read about the theft. It's so unnerving when that happens.

I start with the left arm.

Glad to hear things are resolving themselves.

I'm glad to hear the insurance will cover it. Hopefully, the deductible isn't too high.

My back gets washed first.

yay for insurance! the pawn shop is a good idea. very hush-hush detective-ish, too.

and since everyone has answered: wash hair, rinse. condition hair, soap up beginning at left hand and continuing downward. lastly (except for those awful times when i forget) rinse out conditioner.

Good news about the insurance. As for the shower I wash my left arm first.

Hrmm.. I wash my hair first, then my left arm (armpit to wrist). Interesting that so many of us start with the left arm.

Shower routine: face scrub, rinse, shampoo, face wash, then gradually move south. Sometimes it's a long shower.
