Nada mucho

There's this little hidden place downtown, it's a chinese take-out in fact, but they also have a salad case and you can choose any four for four dollars. I usually splurge and pay the extra dollar for the diet coke. This is the combo I most often take - tabouli, spinach salad, nicoise, and greek pasta. You know it's a slow news day when I lead with a picture of lunch.

There was all kinds of hubbub where I was working yesterday and the place was crawling with reporters and newsfolk. That's because the biggest pension fund in Canada announced how much it had lost in 08. Turns out they were very bad pension fund managers and lost a quarter of the funds, or 40 billion dollars. It wouldn't be so bad if like funds lost a like amount, but the average loss was only 17%, making this big news.

It's snowing here again this morning. I can't even tell you how done I am with winter. The sun rising higher in the sky isn't even helping, it's just making it all the more blinding out there.

Serge and I both found the segment funny on the gags show last night.

I love Juste pour rire gags. They're funny, yet respectful.

I saw the light snow this morning and had the same reaction. "Oh, enough allfuckingready." What makes it worse is my plans to take off for Florida tomorrow are still up in the air!!!

Yeah, I've been done with the snow for a good 3 weeks now. Mother Nature doesn't seem to have gotten the memo.

It's hard times when a $4 lunch is a better investment than a pension fund.

LOL @ GayProf! So true!!!

I am also sick of l'hiver. It's cold again. Sunny but COLD. Like, -30C cold. Damn.

Winter comes around every year and leaves again in its own time. I refuse to let it bother me.

I actually looked at my IRA balance last night. Not as bad as it has been, thankfully, but I just keep telling myself that I've got another 25 years or so before I retire. That and I'm buying low while the market is depressed, so it's going to look that much better once the recession is over.

I agree with the winter comment... typically I'm a huge fan of winter, but this year it's like -4 F one day and withing 36 hours up to 60F.

Enough already, let's just switch to spring and be done with it; yet we're predicted to have more snow this weekend.... it's 55 today.

Ugh.
