This and that

This was on my way to work yesterday. We've had about the same quantity of snow this year as last (record breaking territory) though there is less on the ground because we've had a few bouts of rain which diminished the snowpack. Yesterday's snow was the wet clingy kind.

I always think it looks like cotton candy when it clumps on the trees like that. Even though it's pretty, I'm looking forward to it being GONE. That's not going to be for another six weeks though.

Thanks for all the pattings on the back yesterday. I'll be fine. It's good to taste a bit of disappointment and sorrow at times, you know, to keep those muscles in shape. It was a sweet sort of melancholy yesterday, born of the same sense of loss I had with Sara, but different and far less severe. There was some happiness too. There was a big cheese tasting going on near one of my classes and I was able to stop by and sample a couple dozen varieties from local producers. My favorite farm was there too so I bought my favorite cheese. A thirty dollar chunk because outside of events like these, you can't get the cheese, you have to go to the farm to buy it. I may have consumed a bit too much when I got home if my body's (non) reaction to the morning coffee is any indicator.

We're expecting snow tonight; it's 16° right now, a far cry from what I was experiencing a few days ago. If it has to be cold, though, at least give me snow. It really is pretty, like those trees you show.

My son has fallen in love with Parmesan and Romano cheeses—the good ones from the local cheese shop. He grates it and puts it on just about everything.

You get snow, we get tornados (a few touched down in GA on Weds). Tough call there, which one is more evil. I'd say snow is more evil, because a tornado lasts for less than a minute and you have a better chance of dodging it!

How can your day be bad if it involves cheese? Mmmmm, cheese.

I couldn't imagine living with all that snow. It was 80 here yesterday but we're having a cold front today and it's down to 70. The sun is still out though and tanning is possible. You and Serge need to come for a visit when it's so damned cold up there.

We're gearing up for another 4-6 inches tomorrow. I actually hope it sticks around since my (California) MIL is coming to town. I admit, I like to hear her whine about it :)

I seriously love cheese. What kind did ya get?

My morning coffee's not cutting the cheese either! WTH?!

Sooner or later all your posts turn to shit, don't they? (Not that I'm complaining... nor applauding, just observing)

Hey, that one pic looks like the tree has cotton in it! You sure you aren't down Georgia way and trying to fake us all out???????

Cheese makes almost anything seem better.

I could go without sweets, even chocolate, but without cheese? No way!

What kind of cheese was it though that got you to spend $30 on it?

On Wednesday we got a light coat of snow followed immediately by rain so by Thursday morning there was no evidence of snow at all.

I like it that way. And it's suppose to happen again on Sunday. But winds of change are in the air. Spring is coming and I for one can't wait.

Came to a realization recently. I hate the cold, the snow, the ice, the bracing wind. Hate it all.

Give me somewhere that the daytime temp hovers between 75F and 80F, night time 65F and I'm happy.

I see what you mean by the cotton candy tree picture. Spring is just around the corner.

I like how the color of the trees is just a bit off from the color of the sky.

The branches remind me of pussy willows on steroids.
