It gets better

Even though I loathe the camera angle, my unironed shirt, the way I talk and the pasty whiteness (do we ever like videos of ourselves?) the message is a good one.

Thank you!! for adding your voice/message/witness to this project!

I found one of the major points that you shared to be very significant: the difference between "the norm" and "the normal". For me it is quite true that homophobic people confuse the two, but they are not the same. Because something is not the norm is not to say that it is not normal. You are quite right. We are not in the majority, but that does not preclude our "status" as being normal.

Nicely done. ...and I barely heard the Canadian accent. You just have worked hard to suppress it. :)

A great message. I wish I could have heard it when I was in High School. I felt so alone. I was not out but one guy in my class was and they treated him very badly. I was so afraid they would find out. I wanted to tell the gay guy I understood his grief but he was tormented and taunted until he cried and then they would laugh at the girlie boy. I hope it is better for him now. Ted

very nice, dear...the message is the main thing, the fact that you are cute is secondary. and yes, being gay IS normal, no matter how the conservatives try to twist the truth!

Interesting take on high school.

Insightful video.

I love this project and I extra love it now because you took part in it!

I think it's great(and important) that regular people (rather than just celebrities) make these videos for the kids to show them that their lives will turn out just fine. I think this message of "It Gets Better" could be inspirational to ALL kids in high school because Lord knows high school sucks. Anyway, great job!

(You sound so Francais!)

My first time to your blog - found you through Laura, who I met on our segment on The Nate Show.

I'm so happy to see this video as my first introduction to you!

This is awesome, Torn. I will share it on my blog, too.

Your take on "norm" and "normal" was insightful. Well said.

Unironed shirt? Pasty whiteness?

Pish-tosh!

All I see is an intelligent, attractive man sharing his life experience and wisdom with others who may be lost or fearful of what the future holds for them.

Kudos!
