As promised

So I don't know if you remember, but we bought this table in the winter, received it in June and have yet to purchase chairs for it. I actually like the white chairs with it and tried to talk spouse into getting nice white chairs. He has overruling powers in the decorating apartment though, so no white chairs.

This is the first chair Serge wanted me to see. We looked at lots of chairs and this steel-n-leather seemed to be available in many styles. Serge liked this one because of the curved metal which you can't really see well here. He said it looked more "design".

This is the other chair he showed me. It's basic, but it flares out just a bit at the top which he liked. I liked the price of this one, it's only a hundy, and the other one is half again as much. I think the first one is better, but I still wish we could find something in white.

Oh and since it was pointed out that I was covering my muffin top née love handles, here is a picture featuring that plus the paunch. Have a lovely day peeps.

Dude, the leather one hands down. Leather is so easy to clean and such a classy material. I would however ask for stainless steel, instead of just steel though.

Btw, Serge has great taste. :)

First chair is nice, good price too.

As for the wee paunch... hell, you ain't hung around long enough with the AA crowd! Them old-time beer drinkers all have serious paunch action going - and I do mean serious. Forget the fact that I am not in a relationship now and do not want or need to be; I cannot envision being in a relationship with one of those dudes with the 7-9 month pregnancy look happening. Ew!

So all that to say, you look good!

Did Serge put you in the Dungeon? Poor Torn you look like he is serving you only bread and water down there.
Of those two chairs I like the first one best but do you have an Ikea store nearby? ed

I would never have thought of white chairs but you're right - they look great with your table. But since they were vetoed, I cast my vote for the first chair as well.

From chairs to love handles!!!
I mean, we're all about the chairs, and the prices and the designs, and our preference, and then, out of the blue - OH, here's my muffin top!

LOVE it! Made me laugh!

HUGS...

I'm missing a gay gene. I just don't understand getting excited about furniture. Or even having opinions about it.

Your arms look very nice.

The leather one is better looking but the fabric one looks more comfortable. Especially for your wide-berthed friends.

Your face in the picture made me howl. I'm still giggling.

Those cheapie white plastic chairs at home depot are only like $10 each. And they clean up real easy. ;)

I'm hoping Serge didn't say, "Give me sassy!" and get the last picture in response.

That is a scary looking room. I'm guessing sub-basement?

The original white chairs look great with a glass table top.

You look great too, you call that love handles and a paunch???

Serge could better use your hard earned dosh on cleaning that basement/garage !

Poor baby...sooo fat! NOT. I think you're actually enhancing what little paunch you have there.

The second chair looks comfy-er (more comfy, sorry...) but possibly more difficult to keep clean. Which wouldn't matter if you couldn't see through the table...well, it wouldn't matter as much.

Nice basement there, Buffalo Bob.

Second chair looks much more comfortable. Higher back, cushy seat, it'd be my winner.

First chair. Leather is a classic, the lines clean yet sassy. I think the second chair, though elegant, won't go with the table. Too much contrast in texture between table and chairs. Go with the first chair.

You don't want to be asking me about belly paunch. I'll sit on you and squish you like a bug.

dude - it is not a paunch is you have to crunch up to gather SKIN in your hands!!!! silly boy!

I like the 2nd chair...

What the hell...are all of you folks north of the border just a bunch of perverts, showing off while you do your naughties in the basement? Holy crap. Invite me next time, would you please. As for the chair...I like the leather.

I vote that you hold out for what you really want.

On initial glance, I thought the leather one would be better. But then I noticed the base of the table seems to match the legs of the second chair better. AND, the second chair is the kind of chair one could put a slipcover on. Say, a white slipcover? For those days when you want to change things up, like in the spring when you've had a long winter. So, my vote is for the second chair. It's much more versatile. I like the rug under the second chair too, it's really nice and would go anywhere.

I like the first chair as well, however the test of a chair is how it sits. I have in the past bought great looking chairs that were simply impossible to sit in for any length of time. Of course an uncomfortable dining chair might be what I really need. I can see though, that you do not.

I like the first one as well...

You won't feel as if you might tip over off the side as opposed to the other one. Wait, do you drink that much? ;-)

As for the gut, looks more like you are pulling it out to show, but that it isn't really that big. A few situps would probably help. Still look good tho... :-)

The leather, please. The second chair looks so...um.....gay. I hate it when people say that, but there it is.

A picture of a hot, half-naked man and people STILL comment on the chairs. We're gays are a funny lot

Dude, that reminds me. I need a new dinette set. Mine sucks.

Chair #1 by a considerable margin. Leather, great lines, and #2 looks like side chairs in a posh but very staid women's section of a 1950s department store.

Good god, I really am THAT GAY!

I like the simplicity of the second chair choice but both are nice. Now...I've got questions!!! Don't you have bugs in Montreal? I don't see any screens on your windows or french doors? Our house would be swarming with gawd-knows-what if it weren't for our screens here.
Next question, are you working out in some sort of former Eastern European concentration camp or torture chamber? Maybe the place they filmed the torture scenes in the movie "Hostel"? It looks kind of scary. Or maybe it's just "design" as Serge would say.

You look delicious.

Stop showing off in our scatalogic basement...Spouse

You haven't showed the chairs from Brault & martineau and this is a good thing

Final comments, basement trailer park pictures don't go too well with chair design. But I got a wow at reading all the comments regarding the first ones(chair).

Love is all what Sticky Crows is about and I love him for it. As well as his love for his "love handles" which he want you to love.
It is fairly new to him...getting a little fatter because he stop smoking. That is not a good reason to show our bad basement. Love you Torn. ....Sp..Serge

You kill me, that look on your face is priceless. You look like the fat guy IN the concentration camp-haha! That's about the extent of your fatness. Quebecois must all be skinny if you are feeling fat. Here in Southern Alberta, you would be anorexic in comparison to all the fat the rest of us are storing. hehe.
I like the first chair better, way easier to keep clean and nice lines for a man's place. Fabric seats are a pain in the ass, they get spilled on more than you think they would.
That is quite the dungeon you got there, got any prisoners in there?

you need to go sit your old ass down somewhere.

Both chairs are nice and can be found in white, off-white at a lot of retailers: Pottery Barn, West Elm, CB2, etc. If you get faux leather though it can be a bit stiff. For a bargain check Overstock.com as dining chairs there usually are pretty inexpensive.

You look fine.

If you want to see a "keg" let me know! ha!

( on second thought... )

I am thinking along your lines Torn. There's too much "blending" going on and there needs to be a little "pop" in the room which white would add. I've got some extra paneling for that basement of yours. And thanks for the "HNT". ;-)
