Snippets

* Everyone whines about gas prices, but it's still cheaper than bottled water or bottled anything for that matter.

* When I was out in California, I had it on my mental list to pick up some Paydays. I was telling Laverne about how they used to have Chocolate Paydays but they don't anymore. She asked me if it was covered in chocolate or if the nougat was chocolified. I thought that it was covered like a Baby Ruth. Anyway, when we were in Vegas, there was a vending machine with a Chocolate Payday in it! I had two of them. Indeed they were covered and not infused with chocolate. I couldn't find them anywhere after that and settled for bringing home 10 of the regular ones.
* Now that I've spent 20 minutes looking for them on line, it appears they are only available through Hershey's vending machine operations. There was a limited edition sold everywhere a couple years ago, but even the big internet candy resellers now have listed this item as "discontinued".

* This week marks the first time in 21 years that YELLOW margarine is being sold in Quebec. See, in order to protect the dairy industry, margarine could be any color but yellow, and so margarine producers made special white margarine to be sold here. There are still those who believe the yellow interdiction should be retained and that it will cause customers "confusion."

* I weigh 175 pounds this morning.

* Does this count as a nightmare? I dreamt the water turned freezing cold while I was in the shower and then it morphed and there was no toilet paper left at the end of my movement.

* I came across the tourist-filled aqua bus that tours the city both on land and in the harbor. It made me smile.

* Time Smoke-Free:52 days, 6 hours, 47 minutes and 53 seconds. Cigarettes NOT smoked:1568 Lifetime Saved:11 days, 23 hours. Money Saved:$273.00

* See that $273? Here is what I want (and WILL) to do. Something else I'll be able to scratch off my "before I die" list.

I see the Aqua bus but the first picture when clicked on said I was FORBIDDEN to se it.
I was all ready to say are you crazy then I saw it was a tandem jump. Now I say maybe it would be good to be strapped to a hunk and clinging to him for dear life.
I don't now why you would dream about a cold shower and not papel hygienico but it might have to do with the pet sauce story from yesterday that I can't quit thinking about. ed

Is 175 lbs a good thing or not? I have no concept of what people should weigh. Especially tall people.

For some reason, Clark bars aren't sold in Alaska, so when my sister comes to the Lower 48 she stocks up.

You guys have healthcare figured out. And (not) littering and for the most part, being very polite. I'm guessing to free up time to debate what color to allow margarine? Very strange.

I pretty much hate that you can scarf down payday bars and still weigh 175 pounds.

I love that bus! Happy weekend, Richard.

That bus is charming. We have a land/water thing here; it's called the Land Shark. I don't quite understand how it can do both, but that's not for the likes of me to figure out.

Also, the sky-diving? Jumping out of a plane is a fear I don't feel the need to work through. yikes.

Patricia's comment about the margarine made me laugh. Perhaps peope should be debating about how it's a killer instead of what color it is t though.

I do not get that jumping from high places thing in you, not at all.

I always thought the ban on yellow margarine thing was silly. Either I'm grossly over-estimating the collective intelligence of the general population, or the marketing department of the dairy board just isn't giving people enough credit.

Gas MAY be cheaper than bottled anything, but our economy, our world does not run on bottled anything, it runs on gas. hence the, justifiable in my opinion, bitching about gas prices.

Seeing as I live only an hour and a half from Hershey PA, this whole area is a aflood in Hershey products...including the chocolate covered Pay Days. You want some? email me, I'll see if I can hook you up. :)

Congrats on all the money saved, but I'm afraid of heights, so I'd think of something else to spend the money on. :)

HUGS...

Now I can see the picture of the chocolate payday bar. I'm allergic to peanuts so I call it a death bar. I have an extreme fear of heights and would be dead by the time I reached the ground so if I decide to jump I'll take a Payday bar with me. ed

soon you can buy a case off the internet! http://www.hersheygifts.com/fftf.asp

Hmmm. I may have to check out local availability of Paydays for you. I'm < 45 min from Hershey.

As for doing what you want with the money saved, go for it! But I think I'll stay home and on the ground. :)

That is a Nemo bus from Finding Nemo!

You've saved almost 12 days of your life so far and you want to risk it all jumping from a plane? Are you nuts?

And over here in other parts of Canada, we have yellow Margarine. Quebec is lovely but weird sometimes about somethings!

175? Keep eating those bars dude!

I've wanted to sky dive for a long time. My sister did it this year; the whole tandem way. She said it was one of the best things she's ever done and would do it again if she could afford it. I saw her video. It was very exciting.

Next time you're out here, I'll go with you if you want. I'm serious! That would give us some time to save up.

It's definitely a bad dream, but not quite the stuff of a "nightmare."

Wow...your aqua bus is enclosed! Here in New England we have duck boats and they are open air.

When I saw that first image of the tandem parachuters, my brain quickly photoshopped in yours and Serge's terrified faces. It'll be pet sauce all over again.

Don't you just love those daily emails from QuitNet? They really do make me feel better about the whole not smoking thing. Well, plus, being able to breathe and stuff...

My youngest brother used to jump out of airplanes. Then he got married and had children. I guess he decided insurance for the sake of the children is more important than the thrill of plummetting to his death. Our parents are thrilled.

I thought a Baby Ruth was a chocolate covered PayDay. What's the difference?

It counts as a nightmare if you woke up from it in a panicky sweat

In Montreal it's called an "Amphibus" and I've always wanted to ride it... straight off the street and into the harbour. Must be really cool.

Being acrophobic keeps me from jumping out of anything moving. ( of course, my age prevents me as well, but that's another story. )

I used to like the PayDay's of yester-year. They were much larger than the ones on the market today and usually, one was enough. Of course, my all time favorite were Reese Cups.

Hey, 175 lbs. from where I'm looking sounds a bit thin. ;-)

I've never even heard of a chocolate covered Payday. Looks pretty good! Way to go on no smoking. I'd be too scared to skydive! But you go!
