ND update

Well we had hoped that nude dancer would have come around by now, but still no sign and no word from him. The hearing is less than a week away. We tried to notify him of the hearing by registered letter, but since he doesn''t live here, he never received it. Yesterday, I discovered that that isn't enough. Apparently, we have more homework to do. We need to call a "huissier" to come pick up the papers, knock on his door, leave and write up a report stating what we already know. (That he's not there.) Then the judge will deem us as having adequately tried to notify him. Another $50 hoop to jump through, and for what? I guess to "witness" and certify our claim. Anyway, huissier translates to "usher", so I really don't get it. But the huissier is coming today.

We're starting to ponder all of nude dancer's belongings in the garage. I have a feeling he has disappeared and started anew so he can't be found. The guy really didn't have a whole lot to his name, a couple tvs and clothes was basically it. But the clothes were really nice, and we do have the same coat size. So perhaps some new wardrobe items will come from this.

I did follow up with the spca. Nude dancer never claimed his cat, but the cat was adopted by someone. So that's good news.

a "hussier" to deal with the hustler. Enjoy the clothes and whatever items might help you recoup your losses - anything left over might make a better ending to this story (for someone) if you donated them to charity. As for me, I will not be buying ANY lap dances from him. Promise.

Hiring a huissier must be a pain, but I'm glad to see so much tenant protection in place. You guys are honest and were taken advantage of, but usually it's the other way around.

Glad to hear about the kitty!

It has got to be frustrating to jump through all those hoops, but in the end you will have covered your butts.

I'm glad to hear that the cat was adopted. Perhaps (I hope) it will find a home with someone who will love and care for him/her.

Glad the cat has a new family.
And if you take some clothes, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED first!
ew.

I agree with Dickeybird on the clothes. I would not want to have ND's energy on and around me.
Have the clothes cleaned first!

As far as the hearing, you've probably already thought of this, but I would make sure that I have a detailed written chronology of everything that has transpired throughout the entire nude dancer experience. You want to come across as professional as possible.

wasn't the toilet paper enough??? geez... it's been my experience that people like nude dancer just forget where they lived and never come back... sell it on ebay... the clothes, hmmm, i'd be worried that i'd be mistaken for him while wearing them by someone he screwed over and they'd come after me or shoot me... just because i'm paranoid doesn't mean there not out to get me!!! lol

I am glad kitty has a home!

I don't know -- the clothes would be surrounded by negative energy.

It's good to hear about the cat.

I am very glad about the cat. Funny how some people can just shed a life ... not just clothing, but a live animal as well. It seems too, he abandoned his kid in the same way. I hope that child has someone who won't ever walk away.

Things seem pretty complicated up there. Down here we just point a shotgun at the jerk and tell him to get the fuck out! Best of luck with the hussy!

The "hussier" seems to be a governmental "cya" move. At least you know you can close this chapter very shortly.

Christ all buggery ballocks hon. What a G.D. mess! I'm glad you're gonna have your life back and your room. I wonder what the floor looks like if you use a black light on it? *shudders* Carpet cleaning time.
Hugs,
kb

Have you gotten any takers on it yet, or do you have to wait until he's officially out?

Smudge the clothes! More than once! You know I love used clothes, but ick. We know where those clothes have been. Didja smudge his place? Maybe the whole building?

I know, it's a strong emotional reaction.

Good point, em. I'd smudge the entire apartment before a new person moves in, torn. It couldn't hurt to change that energy!

Well, at least the cat found a good home, that is good news.

And you got some new clothes.

You know, besides the thousands of dollars you lost and the pain and frustration of dealing with a flake, this thing worked out just smashingly.

The end of Nude Dancer... the end of an era.

I'm with snooze. Procedural protections are a pain in those particular cases when you know they won't make a difference (and will cost you money), but adequate notice is the basic cornerstone of fairness. For every ND there's a more genuinely hard-luck person who could easily be screwed over even with the protections that exist, much less without them. Better to err on the side of caution. Chalk it up to the cost of doing business and be glad you get to pre-screen any new tenants yourself before they move in!

Glad the cat is in a better place.

Hm... don't know if I'd wear the bad-karma clothes of ND, but then again, it's free.

I bet he comes back.
I bet there will be a Scene.
Maybe even a struggle.
Better hope you're not playing dress-up in his stuff when he comes around.

There isn't adequate dry cleaning technology that can rid his clothes of the memories of the sheer, unadulteraded effing STRESS he has caused you. Give them to charity if he doesn't claim them.

I'm not as worried about his negative energy as I am about his cooties. I would almost certainly keep them, but I'd have them hospital sterilized, too.
But... If you spot anything fun that you don't want, let me know(tee hee).

You've been brilliant through all of this.

i can't quite get past the fact that "huissier" sounds dirty.

(not all that) deep down, i'm pretty much always gonna be 14.
