A rare visit from spouse

Spouse tried to leave a comment on a post about the light fixture in the closet. For some reason he couldn't post the comment so he emailed it to me. I guess he wanted me to know that he had tried. I thought it was so cute so I'm posting it here:
Well, this fixture doesn't live onto our ceiling anymore. I was so happy it dyied. Not so old, the electric casing is brand new and the wiring is in perfect shape. We had many of those troughout the house but my husband never seem to look up. The Hallway and the living room had them...we never lighted them up as the luminessance of them were brightening our green teeth. Anyway it as been replaced with a $39 cheap stainless steel fixture using 3 MR16 G10 efficient light bulbs that we will one day show you while I get undress. One more to go, the one in the Bathroom that as been dead since we moved in.(Yes, we have 4 sets of lighting in this room, one in the shower, one above the sink, one above the powder stupid desk, one tap light above the toilet for my night pipi and the old one in the center of the ceiling. (not very efficient). Spouse
I had to go look in the bathroom to verify that we do indeed have another one of those lights in the bathroom. See I don't notice a light unless it's missing. As he said, there are three other lights in the bathroom so I haven't noticed that we have a broken one in there. He has already replaced others in the house but I never knew they were those round fluorescent tube types. Incidentally "powder stupid desk" means "vanity".

You'd be so dead if you were in a suspense or horror film. You never look up!

I LOVE "powder stupid desk!" I have learned a new vocabulary word. Thanks Serge!

I loved Spouse's comment! "It's so nice to have a man around the house!" ;)

(BTW, the word verification when I went to post the comment was "nonad". I giggled.)

Hubby is the light man here, too. I also never notice when bulbs are out or what our light fixtures are unless it's completely dark...he keeps pointing out he replaced bulbs in the new house for lights I wasn't even aware existed...*snicker*

FYI: powder stupid desk is also my new favorite phrase...I will use it forever.

I think Lemuel is trying to get in on the word verification bracket...mine was "emelurs" which made me think of him.

Too funny! I knew "powder stupid desk" was the vanity. I also loved "green teeth."

Serge, I got a plan. Why don't you ask Torn to give you a corner on the blog so that you can just write every now and then--it can be called Serge's Corner. My husband won't blog, but occasionally I let him use my blog to write a post.

Go Serge! You rock!

I understood "powder stupid desk."

Spouse takes his lighting seriously.

Serge is charming! Is your French as ...um, quirky as his English?

powder stupid desk is self explanatory, IMHO. good work Serge.

What a great comment. And I don't know what this says, but I knew exactly what he meant by "powder stupid desk." :)

Is powder stupid desk a literal French to English translation of vanity? Or does spouse just have an aversion to vanities? As for the lights...what kind of a homoseckshul are you? Everyone knows it's all about the lighting!

larry said...

i agree, thank god for bar lighting...

Serge's comment sounds SO MUCH like what my Spouse's comment would sound like if he ever read or commented on my blog. (He says he's afraid of what he might find.) Their 'writing style' is so similar it gave me a good chuckle.

"Powder stupid desk" - LOL!

Mark :-)

What a treat to have a cameo appearance from Serge - here's my vote for his occasional guest column. Totally threw you under the bus about looking up, didn't he?

Heh hee...

Oh, weird: word ver is an actual word: "waists" (ie, what people have before they quit smoking)

Serge made my day. It was like listening to my relatives talk. I also knew what "stupid powder desk" was, but I've had a lifetimes experience listening to French Canadian English.

I agree with the voices here, Serge needs to post more often. If only to point out that your bathroom has way too many lights lights.

And to point out how you didn't notice them. Can he be cloned and (somehow) speed up time and move him down to SoCal so I could marry him?

Well, I can't marry him here, cause, the some people are just asshats.

Ooh ooh, I for one would quite enjoy a video of Serge getting undressed! heehee. He is cute on paper as well as in real life methinks! The fact that he lives with someone who teaches ESL is a bit ironic, no? I love his anglo-francais talk!!

The e-mail is totally cute. At the moment, I'm working with French Canadians (again) and I love how they put h's where they don't belong, and leave them out where they should go.

The hair conditioning is messing up my air.
