Druggy Sunday

I took a Xanax once and fell asleep within 5 minutes before I even "felt" anything. A fellow food server had given it to me, and she swore that it helped her get through her shift. Thankfully, I took mine after my shift at home and woke up on that same couch 5 hours later, discombobulated (What happened? Where am I? What time is it?). I never took another.

Once, I took a (I can't remember the word, round? series? ) of steroids for 12 weeks in order to maximize my workout results. A fellow food server had sold them to me and I had to inject myself with a syringe in the ass everyday. It seemed to work but at the same time made me perpetually cranky. I never did that again.

There was that time, so long ago, where a skanky guy did a trick in the kitchen at the end of a party. He cooked up some cocaine in a spoon, gently playing with the lighter torch, until the cocaine melted, bubbled and smoked. Then we inhaled this smoke through a straw. I think this is called free basing. I immediately, and I mean immediately vomited. I never did that again.

I was prescribed Zyban once to quit smoking. After it caused terrible insomnia the first week, I turned into "mean" tornwordo. Nobody could wait until I got off those pills, including me.

I used to say that I would try anything once. I'm not so concerned about the legality of such things as I am with the likelyhood of getting caught. That's all that counts. In this way, I have discovered that most drugs are "bad" for me. That is, I don't see the benefit. But it is only from my experience that I speak, not because I have accepted what I've been told. Still, you probably won't be seeing me trying heroin any time soon.

I hadn't heard of that effect of Zyban, but it is true that everyone reacts to things differently.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and never took any illegal drugs. I smelled Marijuana at rock concerts and the guys next to me were passing them around but I never had the desire to try any.
I also found out that I like Alcohol way too much. So I gave that up years ago. So my life is pretty boring but I'm okay.
My Nephew got on a Regimen of Steriods. Now he is 280 pounds but he has medical conditions that I believe are a direct cause of his steriod use.

The fact that drugs like Zyban make you cranky probably means that you're just fine the way you are. One of the few, the proud, the stable.

If you were using Zyban while quitting smoking, are you really sure the Zyban was to blame for the cranky TornoWordo?

Drugs are bad, um, mmm-k?

Wasn't youth grand? Some of the best drugs I ever got came from kitchen staff in restaurants... lol...

I am generally drug-averse, both prescribed and recreational. I don't like not being in control of my body,

The moral here?
Just say NO to drugs from food service co-workers.

A friend of mine took Zyban to help him quit smoking. Several weeks later he died of a heart attack. He was twenty-four years old. His death made the front page of the Gazette and a coroner's inquest was called. I haven't heard a thing about it since.

So yes, some drugs are best avoided.

I took E once in a club. I was waiting and waiting for the "free" feeling to overtake me and then have the most amazing sex with some stud. Nada. Talk about limp noodle time. Not that it ruined my equipment, just did you know...nothing. Sober as a Shiite. Pot was the only thing that I felt even remotely comfortable using. But it makes me feel even more gay than I already am. Now that just scary!

I have never touched a cigarette in my life although I do have a recurring dream that I smoke. I also have never touched an illegal drug in my life. I just have never had the desire. However, I have extreme anxiety when I fly and xanax works wonders! I don't feel loopy at all, just completely comfortable with the whole flying thing. Maybe that shows that I REALLY do need it.

I am such a train wreck when I drink (stripping and such), thatI can't even imagine taking drugs.

I've never had the urge to try drugs. I guess I'm just boring and unadventurous. :P

We also have done somethings once, but we have friends that say there are some things one should never do even once. Things like crystal meth. Over the years, we have had little interest in drugs. We never sensed a purpose to them, given the amount of fun we were having with clear heads.

I'm glad that none of the drugs you tried hooked you, but if they did, might you have ended up like Nude Dancer? Not a pretty thought.

Oh hell Torn, even Oprah has freebased Coke! I haven't though thanks to Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip. Hearing him talk about setting himself on fire was enough to keep me away from that. With the addiction in my family, I try to stay away from that kind of stuff. I do love some Ativan though when I am in Panic Mode! The wonders of drugs...

Speaking of Heroin I was just about to Blog about a drug-filled movie I saw over the weekend. I took Xanax in high school (by prescription from my doctor) until my dad found-out and freaked out :)

Well can't blame you for having a closed mind and not being willing to try new things torn lol.

Try Chantrix (pretty sure) its what I took for quiting smoking and none of the side effects of zyban.
