The retardedest post

Winter is finally here. -10F (-23C) this morning and though I love the coziness inside, it comes at a hefty price. They ain't givin away electricity you know. The goal for today is to make do with everything I have in the house so I do not have to set foot outside. Unfortunately, I'm yarnless so I can't knit. I cleaned the house and shoveled the huge pile of snow yesterday, so that's done. I don't go back to work for real until this Friday. What shall I do stuck inside, yarnless and choreless? Here are some possiblilties:

* Finish watching the third season of I Love Lucy.
* Finish reading The Alchemist
* Convince spouse to call in sick so he can amuse me
* Make new Pandora channels
* Make banana bread
* Play Literati (yahoo's version of scrabble)
* Reflect on the boringness of my life stuck inside

Of course the bright sun shining off the snow outside will beckon, "Get outside!" But I'm no fool. 10 minutes out there and you're toast. See you in the Literati room (intermediate lounge).

All those are good. Do a bit of each. Go out for breakfast. That way you can also get yarn.

Spend time wit the dog, cook, bake watch a movie. E-mail people. Call home.

Are all your classes ready? Any last minute prep?

Make the bread. It will give you something to do and help fatten you up. You need the extra padding, it's cold out there!

Well, once again it is a learning experience.

I will need to check out this Literati thing.

Down here, I am missing the cold and the snow this winter, but I am not missing the increase in fuel costs!

Torn dear your not toast when you go outside your icicle. It is cold here too. but first it was warm enough to cause the spring bulbs to pop up and try to bloom but now they're toast. I mean Icicles.
A brisk run through the park sounds good but bundle up and wear ear muffs and gloves. And of course that beautiful Merino Scarf!

"Convince spouse to call in sick so he can amuse me"

Maybe he can think of ways to entertain you with banana bread whilst playing Lierati and watching the 3rd season of I Love Lucy?

I LOVE banana bread. Do you add walnuts and/or chocolate chips?

What, no more Tangleword?

I know you're a morning person, but for starters you could've slept in a little bit; don't understand why anyone would arise several hours before sunrise when not necessary,

I, of course, vote for door number three, get Serge to call in sick so that he can amuse you, and you and he can make raucous and passionate word combinations, scaring your tenants to the point of calling the police for fear that one of you is dying, which may be true, albeit not in the way they feared, but rather have hoped for in their wildest and steamiest fantasies.

may i just say that i believe you have violated the first rule for impending Several Days Off In A Row? the first rule is stock up when you have days looming ahead. you must stock up on many things. books from the library, videos to watch, special groceries to make something new and interesting, and alcohol for those long, lingering evenings when you know you don't have to get up early the next day.

really, richard, i'm a tad disappointed.

You could always masturbate.

Then pretend you're on Top Chef and take on the challenge of making some food dishes using up everything you have left in the house. A quick trip outside to pee your name in the snow, then see how many ways you can dress up your dog until she hides under the bed. Compose emails to every person you can think of that you may have fallen out of touch with or haven't touched base with in a while. Call the ones you really need to. Or just call spouse at work and bother him until he orders you to stop.

That's enough to get you started.

Thank you so much for introducing me to Pandora!!! I can't believe I am so out of touch with the latest music "place to be". I had been relying on good ol' itunes for my listening pleasures.

Much obliged, tornwordo! Let me know if you are ever in theNorth Carolina area...dinner for you and Serge is on me!

What is it with you and the making me hungry? Last week it was the banana and walnut homemade ice cream, this week the banana bread.
