Tour de hier

We headed out in the morning to meet friends for breakfast. Not long after we set out on foot, I came across this wall o' graffiti. The three guys in blue are interesting.

Yesterday happened to be the Tour de L'isle, an annual bike-o-thon around the city. As we were walking to go have breakfast, all these people were headed to the start-off point.

Traversing a park, I noticed the ground littered with seed pods. (To follow up on yesterday's post.)

Breakfast was divine and we had good company. The eggs benedict I had with carmelized onions and chevre was something I already want to go back for.

The bathroom in that place was strange though. It's very difficult to see in there, even though one whole wall is mirror. Ladies, don't try to touch up your make-up in here, lol. The picture came out kinda cool though.

When we arrived home, spouse set off for Canadian Tire and came home with a sack of items and a head full of ideas. He had decided to paint. It took him hours and hours, but finally he finished. Here he is posing with the just-cleaned-up paintbrush.

But there was more. He had bought a new light fixture. I'm so glad to have someone around who digs doing the "manly" things. (I could have done it. I just don't want to.)

As the last touch, he put a blue light in the fixture. So here is the new splash of color on our patio. I'm not sure I like it, it's a little bit schoolyard, but it'll do.

I like the patio except for the blue light. The picture of Spouse is showing his best assets. The wierd bathroom lighting made for a cool picture. So nice to have a man around the house, does he have a brother?

"It's so nice to have a man around the house." (I can't remember the singer, but I think it was Doris Day.) [Goodness! The things images conjure up from the deep dark holes of you memory!]

The paint job looks great! Maybe the stripper will come for his things, get confused and leave.

I like the paint job.

Bike Lanes - I noticed that the road you took a picture of had a huge bike lane, is it like that all around Montreal?

I like the patio wall. Very sunrise-like, warm and inviting. Serge did a super job.

I love Serge's paint job.

The hand in the pic of you and your friend looks like he is touching her hair with his index finger.

I love your photo posts.

Bathroom photo is very freaky, but in an interesting sort of way.

I was surprised at Spouse's ladder photo...he appeared much less....manly than I had him pictured. :)

I like the wall too. Pity the fool who has to paint over it though! hahah!

The snaps are great. I love it when you do these.

I love the wall! Now all you need is some funky patio furniture to go with. :)

It's a rainbow portal to your home! What could be more perfect?! I love the touch of blue added by the light.

The wall is cool, too.

Since it's the patio, and not the front of the house, I think you can get away with a little whimsy.

Bathroom photo: Someone's a naughty monkey.

At first I thought you took your shirt off for the bathroom photo, but on closer inspection ... no.

How about going back and taking your shirt off for the bathroom photo?

I'll spring for the benedict/caramelized onions/chevre concoction.

Gosh, that almost sounds like solicitation.

Sigh....
Manly men...

And the foyr would look less schoolish if the side walls of the foyer were painted a lighter shade of the same. As if I'm the decorating expert!

Maybe the bathroom inspired his use of color. Now you just need a big mirror on the patio to complete the transformation.

I love the patio!

Oh, and I can see why bicycling could be a spectator sport. Yummy lead rider in your pic!

I freakin' LOVE that wall!

The wall reminds me of the 70's for some reason. Like when we painted our youth group room at church with a rainbow... I almost blinded myself when the red paint I was using on the ceiling dripped into my eye.

And yeah, for some reason I thought you were shirtless on first glance in that bathroom photo.

Nice ombre effect on the wall.

that wall is cool. i'm not creative enough to even think of doing that, much less creative enough to pull it off.

i adore eggs benedict. i make it at home all the time, sans the bernaise. it doesn't hold well and i'm not sure i'm worth all the fuss, heh.

oh, and the most important part of the painting: your line "but he finally finished." my hubs is famous for starting projects and leaving them halfway done. yours follows through!
