Bonjourno

It's Venice for an overnight stay. I don't think I've seen so many tourists crammed into one place at once. In fact the city remains due to tourists. The inhabitants are dwindling as the infrastructure crumbles. Half the buildings are abandoned, but they keep up the facades for tourists' sake. Only 55,000 people left living here.

The Travel channel never mentioned the dwindling population in Venice. You guys look so cool! I love Serge's shirt and Torn's shades.
Go find a cute Gondolier and pinch his butt. I've heard they like it. Ed

Buongiorno! Comme est ai? You have just described the reason why I felt sad when I was in Venice... The 2nd reason was all the pigeons and poo everywhere!

I've been to Venice a dozen times but only once in the summer and I swore never again! It's absolutely the most spectacular place on earth during Carnival!! It's one of my top 5 cities!

Buon giorno! Come sta, Senore!! You both look great! I know I often wonder who the mysterious "picture-taker" is when I see you, then I remember you have another friend along with you! I think this picture is one of the best taken of you gentlemen.

Enjoy Venice!

When Em went to Venice last year, she took pictures of the architecture and the water line. In one shot, we noticed a floating condom in the water. She said while she was on the gondola, she prayed so hard she wouldn't fall in that skanky water! LOL!

Serge looks young in that picture. Like a 14 year old boy! LOL!

Don't touch that water! I hear it's pretty nasty!

you know, my only foray into Venice was in the winter of 1990. Colder than hell that day. I'll never forget it. And, I paid $50 for two pair of Valentino underwear.

We were there in late August and the tourists were shoulder to shoulder. My wife hated that part since she could only see things to the side due to her height. That said, we both really enjoyed the city despite our shoestring budget.

Hope you're enjoying the city.

I'm amazed anyone is still there, from what I understand about the difficulties the city suffers. I'm glad you got to see it, though. Its history is fascinating.

I didn't realize about the low population. it's good you got a chance to see it before it crumbles.

Venice is Disneyworld. Disneyworld is fun, but it's not real. We had a good time there, but I liked the rest of Italy a lot more.

It's too bad, but the whole idea of a city on pilings isn't too sound. The outlying islands are way fun, and cheaper, too.

That's so sad. Venice was one of my favorite cities when I was in Europe 20 years ago.

An interesting fact about Venice. I never knew that about the population decline and the abandoned buildings. This is turning out to be a learning experience as well.
