This 'n that

I'm all fuzzy headed this morning. We had a swell time at a friend's barbeque last night, lots of good conversation with lots of intellectually stimulating people. Unfortunately, (though at first I thought fortunately), there was tequila. There's a different quality to a tequila buzz, and thus a different kind of morning headache. I love the former but could skip the latter.

I clicked a link yesterday from Brite Yellow Gun's site to a movie site. I figured I was going to click and see a trailer for the movie. No. It was the whole movie. I was totally sucked into the film (though you can skip the first five minute intro) and have been pondering its message. There are three parts. First, the film debunks the veracity of the Bible, which I found a bit dull since I have no emotional investment in said book. Then I found very interesting the take on events surrounding 9/11. There's a lot of fishiness about that day, but I don't want you to think I'm a whacko, so you'll have to watch. The third part reveals who's really in control in the world, and left me feeling quite hopeless. If you'd like to enjoy those feelings, you can watch it here:

There is an old saying, "Don't believe anything you read and only half of what you see.
Robert Browning wrote, "God's in his heaven all's right with the world!

If we would like to enjoy the feeling of hopelessness, you mean? Dude.

It is interesting to me that it debunks the Bible and then gets all upset about the moneychangers. That seems like new behavior, since when I was growing up it was the local Christians who were so upset about the moneychangers.

I don't think that I have the energy today for bleakness.

Shall I tell you about a tequila bottle being passed around a hot tub full of naked gay men plus one straight woman whose husband was watching from just outside the hot tub. It's not what you're thinking...but it was definitely tequila induced.

Sad to say that more and more I am sharing your hopelessness, feelings of things being out of and beyond our control.

Wackos of the world unite!

The first part made me wish I'd taken World Religions in School, I found it to be a wonderful explanation of something I've always felt. The second part may SEEM wacko, but if you take a step back, it makes perfect sense. The third part reminded me of the movie V for Vendetta and scared me a bit.
I cried at the end. We do have a choice, I believe, even though we feel hopeless. Fear or love indeed. And they quoted Jimi Hendrix. Too cool. Thanks for sharing it Torn, I'd heard/read about this and had yet to watch it myself.

I'm thinking that the times we're living in currently are what it must have felt like to be living in Germany in the 30's. Everyone wanted to keep their heads buried in the sand and turn a blind eye to what was really going on. Distractions, distractions, distractions. I don't care if I sound "wacko" to people or not, there was way more to 9/11 than we were ever told and I'm convinced the govt. was complicit to some degree. FACT: Did you know we spent over 30 million dollars to investigate Clinton's blowjob? FACT: Five million dollars was spent to investigate the tragedy of 9/11. What is wrong with this picture? Anyway, thanks for watching. I'm just doing what little I can to try to make people think.

I watched it in three parts, and yes it just made me feel bleak and hopeless, but glad that at least this view is out and being looked at... I felt from the day of 9/11 that this was an inside job, and if Bushies didn't have something to do with it, then they let it happen. It's all spooky and awful.

and I'm sure by posting this comment on now on a list...

Tequila is poison I tell you, poison.

I'm glad we live in a place where that movie can be made. It's hard not to be cynical about anyone who's got such a strong agenda whether left or right, liberal or conservative.

What's happened to conversation?

Tequila hangovers are vile.
I stick to Rum, Vodka, and Bombay Gin. I can manage those, but only good quality stuff.
I think I know that film, and it's scary and sad.
I just feel like you need a nice warm hug. (...)
There! That's better.

I like tequila. I do not like watching things that tell me the truth about how screwed up everything is. Pass the tequila so I can drown it out.
