12 of 12

Wednesday mornings start off like this waiting at the busstop across from the mazda dealership. Last week it was light when I left in the morning. Thanks to daylight savings time, it is now dark.

My first class of the day is around here, though I took this photo the afternoon before. This is the convention center building, and when the sun is at just the right angle poking through the skyscrapers, you get this lovely pattern on the park snow.

After class, I hopped on the metro and went to the library to pick up some more cd's . It always saddens me to see the pigeons get stuck in the metro stations.

I taught another class and then went home for a late lunch. It snowed really hard for about 15 minutes. This is out the kitchen window.

Then I had to head out to the burbs and passed by Molson Park where I find the trees stunning.

On my way out, the sun came out and the sun, god I so appreciate the sun at this time of year. I understand how the sun became an idol of worship. It's worthy enough.

In the burbs, they don't so much as remove the snow as simply move it. The only place to wait for the bus here is in the street. As Serge would say, "It's ridiculiculiculus."

Last class, erasing the board to leave. (I want to shout at myself, "Stand up straight!" )

The skies had cleared and I headed back home over the Des Prairies River. I've seen it frozen over a couple times this year, but often there is a stripe of water in the middle as now. I'm not sure if it's natural or some kind of ice breaking device is involved.

Arriving back on the island of Montreal. Don't know the church, but love the setting sun reflecting off of it.

I caught a train passing just after I parked at home.

It was two hours past her usual dinner time. This only happens on Wednesdays. There she was waiting for me at the window. I fed her of course immediately upon entering.

i always try to shoo the birds that get trapped underground or inside buildings closer to the entrance/exit- but they never seem to get the clue that i'm trying to help them.

Great pictures, Torn. It is warming up here but if it warms up fast were you are I fear flooding.
I finally caught the stomach flu that's going around. We are always late in the Mid-west. I have bad things coming out of both ends.
I have a 40 mile orundtrip errand to run this morning. Should be interesting. Ed

You capture such great moments. Love the one of you at the board.

I clicked on Sara to see her in detail and it's such a great picture. I often wonder how long dogs sit and wait for us like that. If a person was waiting 2 hours for me, they'd be pissed. But a dog just shows even more affection and appreciation. Probably why I like dogs more than a lot of people.

That was great! As if we were traveling with you through one of your days. I liked all the pictures, but loved the effect of the colors from the skyscrapers on the snow in the one picture and, of course, Sara waiting patiently and faithfully for you. Such a great picture!

I *heart* the convention center colorful snow picture. I don't think I've ever seen that much snow in person. Great 12 of 12!

Oh I totally forgot the 12 for the 12th stuff this month! Yours was great! Loved the second photo! And maybe the pigeon went into the subway to get away from all that snow! :)

Don! My heart goes out to you.....and that picture is one hell of a shot. A real grabber. Along with the others. I love the coldness, the whiteness, the winter feel. What is it about winter that brings on such giant emotion? Fantastic 12 shots.

Richard, stand up straight! You don't want to have a humpback when you get old!

(sorry, that was my parental side coming through)

I hate Day Light Saving Time.

I, however, heart Montreal. Sigh -- If only I spoke French.

Those were wonderful. Sometimes I miss the snow so much. I know I'd be sick of it by now though, just like all y'all.

I don't understand, DST actually makes it dark in the morning? Around these parts it now gets light at 5AM.

All due to the advantage of being in a more southern latitude.

Nice picture set. The one with you at the board is interesting, you do have a bit of a slouch going on there.

These are great!

Our snow looks like yours ... huge white cliffs of snow.

I love the coloured stripes of light reflecting on the snow. That is an amazing shot!

I love, love, love the waiting Sara! What a poignant shot that is ... it makes me melt into a puddle.

(Don, my condolences on your loss.)

I just read your previous couple of posts.

TW, I've read a LOT of blogs in the last 3.5 years. Yours, I'm happy to write, is in the Top-5. I gotz to have my S' Crowz, brah!

If you drew hostility, then know it was someone jealous of your first-rate writing.

Aw, jeez, I enjoyed these the other night and then surfed off to see the others, without leaving you a link to say how great they were.

The convention center makes the snow seem almost...beautiful. Actually, so much of your day was, once you look at the pics, anyway. Thanks for including the train...we rarely see any out this way...

Awww, Sara's so sweet...hopefully *she* hadn't melted into a puddle.

I definitely want to try this 12 of 12 thing next month...

Great outdoor shots that you have shared. It's interesting how noticeable the snow appears in photos when it is snowing outside. And the train in motion and the colors on the snow were both great captures!

Living in a city (Sydney, Australia) where it never snows I love how you accept what seems monstrous amounts of snow to me so matter of factly.
