Home

There's hundreds of pictures but I think this one was the best. It was taken on the top of the wall surrounding Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Oh my but it was a grueling day getting home yesterday. Plane late, missed connection, no cigarettes for 14 hours, spouse and I nearly killed each other. When we missed the connection, they got us on the first plane out and told us "run, I'm not kidding." Serge looked like a trapped animal as he said, "Do we have time for a cigarette?" Um, no.

I'm sure I was a delight to be around as well.

I woke up at 3:30 ping! That would be 9:30 in Italy. I uploaded half the pictures this morning already and went through my email which means I spent an hour deleting spam.

I'm happy to be home though, that being a tourist thing is hard work. Nine out of 12 days on the boat were port days where we had a limited time to see all that the cities had to offer. I'm certain we walked over a hundred miles. Maybe two. Today all the home things are pressing but I feel oddly detached and "whatever" about it. The things that brought me anxiety before leaving now seem mildly comforting; collecting late rent is a breeze compared to seeing Rome in a day.

Oh that reminds me, I pooped at the Vatican.

I recall the first night after I returned from Germany. I could not stay awake passed 9 and I was up bright-eyed at 3 am.

Welcome home.

Damn It! Coffee Dog beat me to it...Holy Shit!
Was Sara glad to see you again?
I just heard that the Airlines are cracking down on carry on luggage. They charge an arm and a leg for checked baggage so now everybody carries all they can. I'm so glad I don't fly. Ed

Ya know, I've had a pretty rough morning so far, but when I read "I pooped at the Vatican", well, my whole day just brightened! I laughed, sunlight shone on me, cherubs with harps appeared and played music, and all was right with the word.

I'd say something about Holy Shit, but I'm sure someone else before me already has. :)

Glad you had a great time and glad you made it home safely.

HUGS...

It really is amazing how those words can perk up a morning--left a little note for Benedict's return, did you? We're so proud.

Welcome home...glad you've got a little time to chill and be whatever. Hug the dog for us...have a great day!!

I pooped at the Vatican should be the new catchphrase!

I'm so glad you two are home. I am always a little on edge when my peeps are in the sky.

If the two of you can go 14 hours, you can quit. :)

Great photo. Is it entitled Penis in Concrete sur la mer?

Did you also take a picture of the Catholic Coiler dans Holy Water? That would be classic...

I'm assuming, since your tone is light and you didn't mention it, that Sara was alive and well upon your return, despite Serge the Psychic's prediction.

Yeah, quit smoking! And neat - I bet the Pope smelled your poop.

A fat penis that you can hide in and enjoy the watery view. Neat!

So glad you're back!

Now that you've pooped at the Vatican, what can be left for you to aspire to? The rest of your cannot help but be a slow spiral down from this moment.

You should start marketing t-shirts that say "Holy Shit! I pooped at the Vatican" lol

I've never traveled more than two time zones so I've never experience true jet lag.

I have encountered the air flight delays thing though. On our trip to North Carolina for the holidays we were delayed by about a half hour going down, and almost 14 hours coming back. Not fun.

But welcome back home. Back to the grind it is.

May've killed both you and Serge to be away from those nast-assed cig's, but this could be the first step to a smoke free life. Sure, tempers will be short -after all, its a come down from the drug you've been smoking since, well, forever.

But, its a good thing, in the end.

BTW, welcome back.

P.S. Pooped at the Vatican? Made me laogh out loud.

You should poop in and around other famous landmarks, then write a book about your experiences.

You got to experience the highs of Dubrovnik, getting the squirts in Paris and crapping in the Vatican only to come back to read comments about your smoking, which are far more obnoxious than smoking itself? How crude is that? It's got to be worse than the hrvatsko crap bandit.

Welcome home.
