Day 7

Here we are at the end of our Pompeii tour in Naples. On the right is our good friend Bob who is keeping us laughing. Pompeii is a place I've wanted to visit ever since I was a child. It's amazing to see how life was 2000 years ago. Interesting tidbit: In that time, soap didn't exist yet so the way they washed their clothing was with urine. People pee. You dropped your clothes off at the laundry and left your donation on the way out. The king was hip to this and placed a tax on pee. As our guide said, the tradition continued as in Italy, you have to pay for everything. She was right, I paid three bucks to use the bathroom in Naples. Today we're at sea, we're just now passing by the bottom of the boot of Italy and tomorrow we'll be in Croatia. It's been a week and we're finally feeling relaxed, yay.

I thought the smell of Bounce fabric softener ant-static sheets was bad. So, my third grade teacher was giving me a complement when she told me I smelled like pee in front of the whole class.
The three of you look like you're having a great time. Ed

Okay first the laundry. Ewww.

And is it just me or does your friend Bob look a little like Greg Kinnear?

Last, why are you all wearing #2 stickers? Please tell me it doesn't have anything to do with poo.

PEE ON! I think I could get into that conversation on some sort of twisted sort of level. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could.

I am so jealous of your visit to Pompeii. It has been on list of places to visit since I was a child as well.

I have nothing witty to say about the pee.

If Harper could figure out a way to tax our pee, he would.

I am on the list of people who have dreamed of seeing Pompeii. You guys look so tanned and happy.

A tax on pee and a $3.00 bathroom visit. I pity the person that is on a diuretic.

Pompeii would definitely be on my list of places to see. Have a great time in Italy.

Sounds like a great trip. I was in Croatia in the 80s when it was still part of Yugoslavia. It was magical. I hope it still is for you.

An interesting tidbit, indeed. Perhaps they would use different vials if "extra strength" was needed? :-| Glad to hear that you are starting to relax and enjoy yourselves!
