This n That plus Georgie porn

So Serge got a new camera. It was supposed to be our camera since I had a gift certificate to be applied, but he messed that up somehow (Did you push "apply gift certificate"? Apparently not.) and ended up paying it all himself. It takes really good pics though. The impetus for this was the upcoming TV show. None of our cameras do video well at the moment AND I discovered that if you're in the USA, you will not be able to watch the tv station's episodes on line. So we will take a video of the show so we can keep it.

One more week and it starts airing. I've noticed that often times some of the contestants end up on other shows to talk about the experience or the food. Ugh. I don't want to again, too dang stressful. Also, there is a public choice where people vote for contestants to come back. Please please please let it not be me.

Can you believe it, two blogs in the same month. Remember when it used to be everyday? I don't know how I did that. I have had a lot of time off though. I saw three movies this week. Argo, which I highly recommend, is a great true story and even though you know how it's going to end, it still keeps you on the edge of your seat. Kind of like in Titanic when you knew they were going to hit the iceberg. Really well done.

Then I went to see the Perks of being a Wallflower. Meh. I saw so many raves about it. It wasn't very funny or dramatic. Maybe a super light version of Ordinary People. Then today, Serge and I went to see Paranormal Activity 4. If you like the series style, you'll like this one too. So many chills and jumps and the last ten minutes was awesome. Serge still thinks the first one was the best. (When we both jumped off the couch and shrieked at the end.)

We had dinner last night at mother in law's house. Here is Georgie again, thinking he's a lapdog. I've told you about the yawning right? He must yawn hundreds of times per day. It's a really bizarre habit. Even when he's all excited about getting a coookie or going for a walk, a yawn will suddenly possess him. Strange 37 pound dog.

Let's see, what else? Gotta big week starting, another English immersion with my fourth group of nurses AND I start my next class for my Master's program. So, lots of homework coming up. The class is called, The Psychology of learning - how students learn. Should be at least interesting since it is related to my work.

Not sure when I'm going to do Thanksgiving. We missed the Canadian version and I have the turkey in the freezer so I guess I can do it anytime between now and the American version. Can't think of anything else except that I HATE that you closed your blog Rox. I already miss it and keep checking if you came back. Poo on you, at least send me a chatty email. Finally, here's a last shot of Georgie at MIL's house. He sat there looking at something for the longest time. Wonder what it was....

37 pounds, no doubt, but not at all strange. His yawning is a calming signal:

Lol thanks for the mention!

How much you miss me is how much I miss you too, so I'll drop you a line now. Georgie is still so cute! God Molly was 64 lbs the last time I took her to the vet! I cut back her food a little so she's slimmed down now. I should weigh her.

I'd love to have a better understanding of how I learn. It seems like I'm not learning anything in spite of my efforts. :(

What does it say about me that I find the whole Paranormal franchise and the whole "found" footage stuff to be lame, with lazy writing that really designed to get to the next thing to jump in front of the camera?

Meh. Give me Perks of Being a Wallflower. But as always, I generally hate the stuff that's popular.

37?? Petey is only 28-29. He yawns a lot too, but mostly when we're in the car. Right now , he's too tired to yawn, but I took him on a 2 mile walk. He's poo'd.

I still want to see "Argo" and "Perks". Not so much for the scary movies anymore.

I really hope it is you who is the public choice. Not to torture you, but I think you'd be good.

What John said. Dogs yawn when they get wound up as a way of calming down.

As hound dogs often hunt more by scent than by sight, Georgie may have been enjoying the scent of the neighbors' cooking or some such. Then again, he may have been meditating. Or conjugating Latin verbs. Or conniving how to get another treat from his Grandmama.

Glad to see you and your guys are doing well. Can't wait to find out if you won, and what you cooked on the show!

Such cuties—all of you! Thanks for the update, sweetie.

I plan to see Argo, but I don't do scary/gory/hyperviolent. While I loved what used to be called scary (all those old scifi movies), these days the intensity and extremely graphic gore keeps me away from pretty much any paranormal movies. That, plus the older I get the easier it is to startle me. Now I will jump even if you tell me exactly when it's coming! I don't need the stress. Movies are supposed to be fun!

What's the scoop on Cloud Atlas? I've seen the trailer, and it looks fascinating. But is there any buzz on what it will really be like?

I have two beagles (39 lbs) Casey and Finnegan. They both think they are lap dogs just like Georgie. Finn tends to yawn a lot as well - it is a calming signal.

I saw the yawning photo and thought, I love that! And then I got to the one of him on the deck and my heart melted. I love that he's just enjoying whatever it is he's looking at! :)

Okay, so we just had the American Thanksgiving yesterday, did you ever eat that turkey? :)

I'm going thru Montreal on Monday heading back to St. Louis, MO from Maine, any suggestions for a place to stop for breakfast at 8am? Yeah, I know, not the most direct route, but after reading your blog for so long, I want to swing by since I'm so close and at least see part of the city.

Try Olive et Gourmando in the old Montreal. Lovely spot to walk around and great food. If they aren't open, try L'Avenue on Mont Royal street in the Plateau district.

I will thanks! Do me a favor and if you get snow, keep it light for my trip... :-)

I am here from Heart in Hand's blog. Thank you for the link on body language that you shared with her. There is a person I work with that just needs to enter a room and I deflate. She does this with a lot of people. Though I am very confident in my abilities in what I do for a living (I do palliate care in my community)she has this ability to make me feel stupid and worthless even though I am more qualified that she is. She and I work together on Sunday so I am going to try this. Thanks again.
