This 'n that

Our bags finally arrived at 8 last evening. Everything was intact though the TSA cards were in there stating that they had rifled through them. That's what happens when you transport canned tuna. It's the best tuna in the world since my momma caught, smoked and canned them herself. Mom had come home with hundreds of pounds on her last fishing trip and I helped her with the process. (and gained a new appreciation for the work involved. )

Waiting around for the bags yesterday, there was a spectacular accident in front of our house. A car full-on beaned a cyclist and catapulted him at least 30 yards through the air. I nearly vomited I was so shocked. The young man was taken away in an ambulance. It made me want to get a biking helmet asap. Truly horrifying to witness.

I can feel that post vacation funk setting in. Maybe that's because I've got to actually work today. Or maybe because we had such a darn good time. I dunno. Here's some more pics of us having a good time last week.

Glad to hear that your luggage finally arrived. Wow. Look at all that canned tuna. Good thing the glass jars didn't break!!!

I flew back here to Newfoundland a couple weeks ago and Air Canada (an airline I truly enjoy flying with) 'misplaced' one of my bags for about an hour and half at Toronto airport. Gave me a real fright, but at least it was not lost.

Nice photos from your trip.

It would be horrible to see a bicyclist get hit right before your eyes. I hope he is okay.
I want to see the giant California Redwoods someday. Those are big rocks. Serge is so strong to hold that Boulder up like that. He must be Superman.

I thought those tuna jars were candles at first!

Yes please get a helmet. I think I mentioned that once in one of your bike posts. You are too purty to not have a helment, we need you intact at all times!

I can relate to you almost throwing up; I almost did the same when I saw a bad accident.

That is so cool about your mom preparing her own tuna. In that last photo you can see how great your arms are. Most impressive.

Yes, please get a helmet! I always wear one when I bike and it was the first rule I taught my little guy when I got him one a few months ago ... no helmet, no bike.

I agree with Snooze. Very nice arms!

Great pictures. Like you yesterday, I am grinning helplessly. :)

I was woken-up from my jet-lagged sleep this morning by the FedEx guy delivering my missing suitcase. I haven't opened it yet to see if a TSA card could explain the delay.

Is that your family's dog?

Nice pics, I know I always say this but Serge is so cute, he always just makes me smile. You can tell just looking at his pictures that he's a cute little stinker. Nice pipes too, on you, I mean. And please DO get a helmet, it is very dangerous, and people are just driving more aggressively than ever. You only get one brain, you know. Better take care of it. (That's what I say to my kids). I really hope the guy who got hit is ok.

Tuna in the suitcase? Sounds fishy. Ba-dum-bum.

Hate those post-vaca blues. Hope they pass.

Hey, what's with the tuna? Is it that good?

I haven't eaten tuna in a long time.

What everyone else said.

That dog is cute. Who does she belong to?

That's a lot of tuna.

I see much noodle casserole in your future. Great pics.

I thought the tuna looked like candles at first too.

Glad your stuff got back intact.

I so hope the bicyclist isn't too badly injured. And yes, get a helmet as soon as possible. You can't account for the bad driving of people in cars, no matter how safely you ride.

Got your bags back so soon? Wow. (kidding........).
The pics are nifty....you guys photograph very well.....what that means is that you're sexy and hot....and that I didn't mind blowing them up to make them big so I could get a good look. Glad you're getting yourselves back together.

The main thing is that the bags showed up. Sometimes they disappear forever!

And aren't you two a gorgeous pair? Very nice! :)

Oh My! Real live tuna? Or at least, Tuna that once was real and live? I'm so sick of the canned mush that I buy in the stores.
Those photos make me yearn for the sea and the forest.
Seeing you and Serge enjoying them is a treat, though.

Oh yes, and Serge is quite the hero, holding up that big boulder. So Manly...
Sigh...

Ahhh air travel. Isn't it so much fun these days. If you are lucky enough to get where you are going it is a good chance that your luggage might not be there to greet you.

And how friggin' cute are the two of you in your vacation pics. Adorable.

Oh, my - you don't seriously ride a bike without a helmet, do you?

GET ONE!!!

It will literally save your life. I had a bike accident last year - no warning, in a fraction of a second - and ended up in the emergency room with a concussion and a smashed-up helmet. If I hadn't been wearing it, I would probably not be here now writing this.

I would never even think of getting on a bicycle without one, seriously.
