Ugh, it's minus 40 with the wind chill this morning. Did you know that minus 40 is where Farenheit and Celsius meet? Well it is. When you say minus 40, it is accurate by both methods of measurement. I thought I was done with the immense winter layering of garments, but no.
There is nothing exciting going on right now. It's like a treading water period. Staying afloat but nothing remarkable about it. I find my mind drifting off to future events like New York in May and the summer beyond. I know it's more *correct* to be living in the moment, just seeing what comes, but the moment is boring these days and unable to rivet my attention.
I suppose today will be much like yesterday. Might resemble tomorrow a great deal as well. Sigh. I'll get out of this funk. Probably about the time it gets above freezing. Peace.
The times that the fields lie fallow are the times that they prepare for the bountiful harvest. Dream on and May will blossom abundantly.
i am dreaming of summer time too, hang in there!
Sunny and 54 (F) in London. Expecting some rain, but I'll so trade that for 40 below. Stay warm.
What seems dull and mundane now, when you look back will be considered the good old days. You have your health and your Spouse. So many of us have poor health and no Spouse. If I had what you have I would leap for joy and shout for glory. You have a case of Winter blahs with a spring fever chaser. The first warm day will cure it.
I have the picture from your balcony as my wallpaper.
Sometimes - just floating along in a slow motion cloud is a good thing...
My earrings froze this morning. Uncomfortable, to say the least.
And it scares me, because Montreal is normally a little colder than here.
I'm planning and dreaming of spring travels too, and taking a great deal of pleasure doing it. You, Spouse and Sara keep warm.
It's a balmy -13C here this morning, I feel as though spring has sprung. NOT!
Oh how I long for the days of melting dog poo and the smell of snow mould.
Everybody who's anybody uses the Kelvin scale. It's not 40 below; it's 233 above. Better make some lemonade.
40 below. Good God. And I was cranky because it is 5 below with the windchill here in NYC. I can't imagine 40 below. I wouldn't go outside.
i thought i saw someone treading water next to me!
40 below? Remind me never to visit Canada in the winter or southern Arizona in the summer.
40 below is still just a theoretical concept to me. I have never experienced it; however, future locales might make it my reality.
March is the funk month, although usually in Chicago the 40 below is January. In March you are just so sick of winter, even when you live in a beautiful city like Montreal. We have a bad wind chill today, not as low, but in defiance I just wore a sweater coat. But dressing for spring won't bring it--darn.
We're getting gale force winds out here, with varying temperatures.
It was almost 60 degrees today. I wore my workout clothes, a black cap and my earPod. Yes, there was plenty of sashaying as I minced up the lane past the stares of cattle hoof deep in the muck of the thaw. I've been restless with this moon and like you say in a holding pattern. Seems strange that 'nothing' makes the human animal so damnable anxious.
