The book meme that's going around

Thanks Joel! (and many others who have already done this one)

1. One book you have read more than once:
It's rare that I read a book more than once. One that I've read several times though is Going Native It chronicles my uncle's life living with a tribe in Washington state. There is knowledge there that we aren't normally privy to.

2. One book you would want on a desert island:
A really really big book. Maybe 100 years of Solitude. Or better yet, ESO

3. One book that made you laugh:
David Sedaris always makes me laugh. Choose any of his books.

4. One book that made you cry:
White Oleander by Janet Fitch. (Also, one of the best books I've ever read, and it was a twenty something girl's first attempt at a novel. Bitch.)

5. One book you wish you had written:
All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.

6. One book you wish had never been written:
The enduring and most important religious text. (this will depend on the reader to decide which one)

7. One book you are currently reading:
Yarn Harlot: The Secret Life of a Knitter

8. One book you have been meaning to read:
L'Étranger

9. One Book That Changed Your Life:
Fit for Life After that, I changed my diet forever.

10. Now tag five people:
No. And you can't make me.

Cool choices. The Fit for Life book...I try very hard to always consume non-processed foods, sometimes I slip but for the most part I'm pretty good. Breakfast for me includes a smoothie with : Flax seeds, oatmeal, soy powder, honey, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries (all fresh). It's amazing how long that smoothie ties me over!

Oh yeah, books not written, why didn't I think of that one!

I knew you were a harlot!?

Sorry about the tag, but I like this one and it's interesting what people read.

I'll check out your list.

Seems interesting!?

Thanks!?

I'm adding many of these to my to-read list.

Going Native reminds me of my favourite movie (Dances with Wolves). It also appeals to me that it's by your uncle.

Thanks for this!

«L'Étranger» is a wonderful idea.
For the desert island there are bigger, beginning with «À la Recherche du Temps Perdu». I believe I could be reading it years in a row.
Thank you for the good reading you provide! :-)

1. Charlotte Brontë's Villette.
2. A ginormous Webster's unabridged.
3. Same as yours.
4. Sadako And The 1000 Paper Cranes (when I was 9.)
5. Smilla's Sense of Snow.
6. (Ha ha I know you stole that one from me. I hate tagging other people, so much so that no one takes me seriously any more. I aM teh MeM3 killa!!!1!

I think this one will soon reach me too. Ah, I read too much to care, but I agree with you on 4--what a novel! And they had to ruin it with a movie.

I actually enjoy all religious texts, even when I don't agree with them. There isn't one single truth in my opinion, but the texts try to approach it and I respect that. But the followers are a different issue altogether.

Here's a shorter version that I did on another site.

2. A Jackie Collins collection (seriously, they keep you entertained).

9. The dictionary as the book that changed my life.

Sad, or pathetic?

Oops, I skipped about four, didn't I? Thank god you didn't actually tag me, and that I care fuck-all for "Online Integrity."

Some good books! And I love the Harlot -- she's a cool lady. Waiting to meet her again when she comes thru town later this fall. You probably see her at your LYS.
