The last whine

In case you haven't noticed, I've been out of sorts lately. And there are several possible roots to the problem, most notable of which is the stinking cold virus I'm finally getting over. I see how the posts are getting smaller and smaller as I attempt to avoid the morass of moroseness. I'm not really all that fond of the "woe is me" kind of blogs that go on and on about problems. I'm sure they are cathartic for the writer, it just bores me as a reader (of course a witty pen will make up for that). I wonder if that has to do with upbringing. I come from a rather stiff lot, we empathize with your problems and then we expect you to suck it up. Anyway, I do not wish for this to be a place to moan about various maladies. Like the blister I got from the Pop Tarts frosting. (shut up, they were free with a coupon)

I prefer to paint my life with the "magical journey" spectacles. It's like Woody Allen. Does he really see his life as shown in Annie Hall and Manhattan? Yes and No. The reality surely differs, but the interpretation is probably similar to how he lodges his experiences in memory. I know my memories are stripped clean of all but the most negative of experiences. What's left is a meadow of sunshine with only a few black holes.

I'm certainly not going to remember how I felt sick and depressed for two weeks in August 2006. That is unless I come back and read this again.

And for the record, I finally feel like myself again today. Hooray!!!

I think it is time for you to go visit the botanical gardens again. Then go buy a pair of new shoes. You'll be spouting sunshine and Roses and ready to take on the world, one blog roll at a time. (take pictures)

I had noticed that things were a bit more ... nonchalant lately. I just assumed that you were spending more time enjoying the summer and not blogging.
Glad you're feeling yourself today.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. But, boy, am I pissed! You had pop-tarts and didn't share!

What I've never been able to figure out about Woody Allen movies is how all the characters are able to afford such nice Manhattan apartments when all they ever seem to do is have dinner parties, talk about things, and go to therapy.

Glad you're feeling better. I've tried to stop my complaining. It's easy to get into that awful loop.

I hope my blog doesn't fall into the "woe is me" category. Since I pepper it with curse words, maybe that is what makes it palatable.

You burnt your lip on a cheap pop tart? Sounds like a country song.

Congratulations on not feeling bad anymore. Memory is a strange thing. If I think about the past, it either conjures up all the good things or all the bad, but not the two simultaneously. Funny. You haven't seemed that bad though. I'm surely guilty of the woe is me, or maybe I just get pissy.

Stop bitching about people bitching!

:)

Hope you feel better ... and I hope my work woe tales have been improved by a witty pen vs a shitty attitude.

Congratulations on making it through the desert.

Kissy, kissy, kissy, Morthog!

i'm pretty sure you should sue the pop tart company.

and if the maladies about which you moan are as funny as this one, please. moan away.

I think it is hilarious that everyone (me included) seems to think that you were referring to their personal blog being too whiny. Bloggers are both a vain and self-doubting crew.

Glad that you are feeling better! A lot of people take a lot of drugs to get to the point of only thinking about the positive things in life.

Everyone has their highs and lows.

Just stay away from the booze and the pills... they're mine.

Well it is about time - that half a line you wrote about feeling bad was REALLY getting on my nerves... what a wussy!

Now get off your ass and do some reading...

Does it help that I see you thru rose colored glasses? You look cool and kind of a really nice mauve color. It does the most marvellous things to your eyes.

Glad you are feeling back to normal... But, what is normal? Huh? And by the way, I have burned myself on poptarts before. And I bought them ! I don't have any fancy coupon story to back my ass.

You know... it goes along with my favorite saying of yours, "why choose unhappiness?"

Because that's normal, my friend.

You've been fighting this cold for a while. Glad you're on the mend.

You got a blister from Pop Tarts frosting? See, this is something I'd like to hear more about. I do not mind hearing about people's woes as long as they amuse me. In fact I'm fully supportive of woes if they make me laugh.
