Snippets

* I watched a squirrel scoot along the entire length of the backyard fence, dog-with-an-anal-itch style, either scratching himself or "expressing" something on it. Then some birds came along and started sharpening their beaks on the top of the fence. Fascinating in a gross kind of way.

* Once you give your self permission, quantity is not an issue.

* A six day road trip to New Brunswick is at hand. We will visit the place with the highest tides in the world.

* Me being a dork.

* I don't know why, but I was really sad when I read that Patsy Ramsey had died. I may have loathed/pitied/loathed/pitied her, but I never wished death upon her. Only 49 years old.

* The house deal got financed. Apparently, the fourth bank is the charm. Barring the unforseen, we take possession in a couple weeks. I refuse to have any emotion about it until that time. (Spouse is beyond excited)

* Yesterday's discussion was quite thought provoking. I feel like my mind expanded. Thank you.

* Fork booger: matter which continues to adhere even after going through the dishwasher. Often seen in greasy diners.

* Have you seen the tea party? When I see that, I feel like peace is really possible. Unfortunately, others see it differently.

LOVE the dork photo!

Congrats on the house deal.

Take lots of photos of NB and have a great time!

The tea party reminds me of the opposing soldiers amicably getting water from the same fountain - at Gettysburg I believe. It's nice to see civility in the middle of war.

The whole JonBenet-Patsy Ramsey story is sad-sad-sad.

Congrats on the house! I assume you kept to the high road with the 4th bank. We'll just average your enthusiasm with Spouse's to get the true excitement level with you guys right now.

NB? take me with! take me with! (Oops! my PA Dutch is showing!)

The Ramsey thing? I've got a theory that involves parties on the east coast and a desire to deflect attention. They have plenty of friends in CO to dotheir bidding.

Dorky pic? Hmmm. I could comment but I won't, except to say I don't see much evidence of those doughnuts you stopped by to eat. ***grin***

Hey! Congrats to both you and Spouse on the house.

Congrats on the house! I wish I was off to gaspe and new brunswick, and am sad that while jason is in Montreal for a baseball tournament at the end of august i'll be at "camp." :(

Congratulations on the house.

The tea party thing reminds me of a documentary I saw about jewish and palestinian children learning to play together.

Have a great time! I know you'll take lots of photos, and come back with stories for us all.

I'm sad we won't talk probably until then!

Once you give your self permission, quantity is not an issue.

Is this why having "just one or two" Doritos frequently turns into eating the whole bag?

With both the tea party and the Ramsey situation, the real truth seems impossible to know. "Free press" is not free, and probably hasn't been for a long time.

Hopeful wishes on the house, and have fun in New Brunswick. May your trip be fork-booger-free.

And btw, if I were driving down that road behind you while you were "being a dork," I'd probably crash my car into a that tree. When the paramedics arrived, they would find me expressing my excitement in an explicit display of wanton abandonment.

I can see the photographer now, o.k. make a circle with your hands around your favorite asset. I have never been to the Bay of Fundi but I hear it is just amazing when the tide rolls in, have fun!

It is sad that Patsy Ramsey is dead. It's sad what happened to that family.

With all the things that happen on the fence, it's a wonder any of us sit on it in the first place! Yuk!

Have fun on your trip! I anticipate a full pictorial/report upon your return!

When you saw the birds did you shout "Scat!"

Bay of Fundy! Sooooo cool.

Cutest dork I've ever seen.

The entire Ramsey family is owed an apology by the vile media.

Congrats on the deal!!!!! And you're not even Jews!!
(Come on, I'm Jewish, I'm allowed to.)

Fork booger, ew.

Have a great weekend.

Congrats on the house! That is great news (though, I know you want to keep it low-key until you actually have the key in your hot-little hand).

Oh, and that's not dorky. That's hot.

I am guardedly excited about your success in financing the new house.
I love the big crashing tidal waves. I almost got pulled out to sea in Oceanside San Diego, walking as close to the tide as possible one night, when a huge wave came in, blew me up against the rocks, and sucked me out with the tides rollout. I was bruised, but it was so worth it.
I will check out any film you reccommend. As you know, I am putty in your hands.
If I may be permitted my usual leering, affectionately salacious observation, you look like a "big" dork. Ummm,I'll stop myself now, while I still can.

Congrats on house deal.

Mucho congrats on the house deal (formal confetti and party favors to follow after you guys formally take possession).

The squirrel thing? Interesting. And I have QUITE a visual working in my rather odd lil lmind.

The pic? Um, we don't call that dork 'round these parts. We call that HAWT.

Safe trip. Have loads of fun. We anxiously await the travelogue.

First time reading your blog thanks to a comment you made on L-Girl's "We Move to Canada" immigration blog. Great stuff - you are an excellent writer and I found myself reading your stories for the past three hours. As one half of a gay couple in the process of immigrating to Vancouver from the States, I find your stories inspiring. What hurdles you and Serge had to jump over! (Wonder if your immigration lawyer is the same one we are using in Vancouver??) . . . If you get a chance, check out our "Moving to Vancouver" link from L-Girl's blog.

Thanks for the articles, and "Cheers!"

congratulations on the house.

fork boogers also come out of our dishwasher, along with spoon, knife, cup, and plate boogers. it is caused by putting a completely and utterly filthy piece of silverware or dish without even pretending to rinse it off.

which in turns causes me to have a meltdown, yell, and force the offeding party to wash all dishes by hand (gah! what punishment! how dare i!)

So how did you get the handle "Tornwordo"? I'm guessing it has something to do with a tornado of words, maybe?

Have a great time in NB, guys!

If your visiting the Bay of Fundy in Southern NB - take in Hopewell Rocks...and Cape Enrage (oldest working lighthouse in NB) - beautiful spot. Like Jane said, take lots of pictures!! Hope you enjoy my home province. :)

1) Congrats on house.

2) The photo's nice!

3) The squirrel scooting and avian interest... who knows? Considering what I've seen my dogs eat in the yard (much of which I wish I could forget), very little of animal behavior surprises me. Still, they're more dependable than most people!

I'm loving that you've been on vacation for like 8 months or something ridiculous and instead of going back to work you are just buying houses. Very Paris Hilton of you. (The picture of you doing something to your crotch is a little Paris Hilton of you too.)

I was also saddened by the death of Patsy Ramsey... despite my ongoing suspicions.

I have lived here in Boulder since 1978, and Jon Benet's unsolved murder still leaves a feeling of frustration, confusion, suspicion, and anger over our city for many of us.

The media circus, called "Camp Ramsey" seems to have left the area over the past couple of days... since Mr. Karr's charges in the case were dropped due to unmatched DNA.

Maybe now we can, once again, get back to our sense of normalcy.
