Returning to normalcy

We had a normal weekend! No terrible drama, no angry bitterness, lots of sleep. We had guests over on Saturday, and Sunday was a glorious day of puttering. I took the dog out for a long walk and marveled at the leaf carpet in the park.

While I was out with the dog, Serge decided to work on some things around the house. When I returned, I noted his grouchiness. Apparently he was harboring resentment because I was not attending to the things which until then, only resided on a list in his head. I decided to get the camera to see if that would soften him up a bit. Here he is cleaning the ceiling fan.

I've had good luck with a "go back to sleep" method suggested by one of my students from Health Canada. She stayed after class last week to tell me to "imagine the top of my head is cut off, and then focus on your breathing as with each breath your thoughts all escape from the top of your head". I smiled and thanked her thinking, "yeah yeah, but I've got it bad." Nevertheless, it's worked three times. I start doing it and the next thing I know it's morning. So cool.

Good to see you guys back to a normal routine again.

You have a cloth ceiling fan?
I so want one.

It's good to hear you guys laugh again.

Have a great week.

Glad to hear you're getting better sleep and that you had a more normal weekend.

You know this already but...You and Spouse are so neat together!

You guys need to have a half-hour show on American T.V. believe me it would be number one. It could be titled: "Tornwordos World". Just video any half hour of your normal lives. Reality T.V. at its best! Who plays the Electronic Keyboard?

But I already have a hole in my head, as people tell me, so aren't my thoughts escaping all the time? That WAS a rhetorical question...

That sleep trick is cool. Thanks for sharing that. As for Serge, he is such a good sport.

You: "What, your legs are broken?"
Him: A look that said, "Get your f**kin' ass over here and get this thing for me before I come over there and smack you into next week."

I want to get in on this meditation thing now too. Peter's got me convinced that it works.

I'll have to try that. My "I'm in a British Airways first class lie-flat bed with a comfy duvet and pillow, flying somewhere far, far away from wretched Toronto and the elegant drone of the Rolls-Royce jet engines is lulling me to sleep" trick is just not working anymore.

Wow – That is some thorough cleaning. Joan Crawford would be so proud.

Serge should really consider dressing like Mr.Clean while doing that. Or maybe that’s just my own little fantasy world...

Oh my, Serge seems intent on stretching the limits of his Charm Machine here. Fortunately, you always know just what to do. Sigh.
I love your "sleep remedy".

Sigh, even grouchy, that Serge is quite the charmer.

Oh cute little grumpy pants Serge, does he KNOW how much we all love him, huh? Does he???? I just want to give him a big zeebert on the belly there! You guys are so cute and I am so happy things are feeling somewhat more normal for you again. I love the carpet of leaves, the smell alone takes me away to places long ago....Devo

All I gotta say is, if your other half is grouchy already cause he thinks you're not helping around the house, when he is doing something and you're not and he drops something and then asks you to get it, I don't think, "Why, are your legs broken?" is really the best response.

I laughed out loud, though, cuase I thought either the sponge or Serge himself was gonna come flying at you, camera or no camera.

love you guys....

you mean you're supposed to clean those fan things???

i can't believe that you find a visual of beheadedness relaxing enough to fall asleep. very strange.

it doesn't seem like he was overly softened by the camera...he's a good sport with you and your camera though, gotta love him for that.
