Sunday media dump

It was a beautiful week, clear skies and mild temps. I took this shot downtown Thursday. All pics are clickable for screen filling versions.

That same morning, the day before the snowstorm. Note how little snow there is left.

Here is Saturday morning, the day after the snowstorm.

I was surprised to see a jogger. Notice the person digging out their car in the background.

But then when I went out, I saw that the sidewalks were pretty well cleared.

A neighborhood cathedral.

The snow drifted up the side of the stairs.

It was a beautiful walk. Then I came home and Serge was shoveling.

Very nice pictures. I have been impressed by your video before of how Montreal does snow clean up. Your pictures not just confirm it - and after a 14 inch snowfall! You will not know how many people I have told about the method illustrated in your video a while ago and how many I show that video to. They were also impressed. Maybe it will move some town fathers down here to get their butts in gear. ... Nah. probably not, knowing them.

Thanks for the pics

That Serge is a good man! (out there shoveling)

Pretty photographs. We got about 6 inches of new snow here on the Avalon yesterday, with lots of drifts 3-4 feet. Today we wake to spectacular blue skies and sunlight and are now snow blind.

I had to laugh at your calling this a "snow storm"! Obviously you didn't grow up in, say, Chicago, where what you photographed would be just ordinary everyday "snow."

Great pics and videos! What building is that in the first photo?

We had our first snowstorm in October and our roads STILL aren't as cleaned up as yours, which disgusts me to no end! The snow removal in this city pales in comparison.

Nice post.

I love your pictures of Montreal. I will never see it in person. OMG! two videos for a Sunday morning, nice! I see a Subway and a place that sells DVD's nearby. What more could you want? Torn, if I were you I would have stayed away longer, until Serge had finished the balcony. LOL. Give Sara a big hug for me. She is so sweet.

I know you guys have been hammered back there all winter long.....but, I have to say, the pics that you've all had on your sites are crazy beautiful and cool. Snow has the ability to transform any scene into the such cool scenes.....love the cathedral with the snow on the steps.

I want to know why Spouse called it "Asshole City"... is it because of snow? Cars? Neighbors? general grouchiness?

Oh the questions I have today.

I am impressed that the sidewalks had been cleared already. Montréal is so much more civilized than Boston in that regard. Until yesterday, there were still sidewalks on my walk to work that were treacherous with ice from the storm on Valentine's Day.

i always enjoy your view of life in the pictures and videos you do. its a favorite because they are normal scenes and you are not trying to make them any more or less then they are..keep it up. your dog watching the work progress is priceless!!!! love the supervision.

Sara was thinking what an outrage it is that you moved her from southern california to this ridiculously cold and miserable place.

We have jogger crazies here too. The cathedral is lovely. I wish I had a Serge to help me shovel the snow.

i must admit that i was hoping the jogger might fall a little bit. not to the point of injury, but i can't help it, i just laugh when i see people fall. after i find out they are ok. or at least i try to stifle the giggling while i'm asking if they are okay.

i love how sara's tail wags the minute she hears your voice. no one else in my world, other than a dog, gets nearly as excited just at the sound of my voice. pretty cool.
