Bah!

It's days like yesterday, I ask myself, "What the hell am I doing here!?" It was the coldest day of the year with biting winds and frigid temps. I arrived at my lessons with snotcicles and cheek burns. I found myself cursing the razorblade winds, which is very unlike me. OMG, I just saw three joggers pass by. They looked like they were wearing rubber wetsuits. Yes, as I'm typing about the ridiculousness of the climate, I see joggers. This makes me feel wimpy. Or it makes them crazy. Yes, that's it, they. are. crazy.

It was about 35 below with the windchill yesterday. But I noticed Winnipeg had 50 below. Note to self: Never, ever consider moving to Winnipeg. Apparently, this air is the coldest in the world right now. It's considerably warmer at the North Pole even as we speak. I am not shitting you.

If you are experiencing a "cold snap", just be thankful you're not up here. It's insane. And I want it to go away. Now would be good.

Yes, it does sound like you are a bit "chilled" up there! I like winter and I like cold, but I think I will scratch Winnipeg off my list. I think I've met my match.

Keep warm! (Snuggling sounds like a good idea!)

I nearly cried with pain when I felt that wind!
Today I curse my parents' decision to move to a country this cold. We could have gone to Barbados just as easily...

Those joggers are crazy. This is treadmill weather.

it's hellish. it makes me not want to leave my house.

It is 12 degrees here in Indiana and I wanted to complain but after reading this Blog I guess I just can't.
I need a scarf, Torn do you have any for sale?
There's something I can complain about. I don't have anybody to snuggle with. Now I feel better. LOL.

The weather is oddly chilly in my city, Bangkok, for this time of the year. Usually the cold would left the city right after New Year but this year it still quite cold even we already in Feb.

It's not nearly as bad as Montreal I am sure, but then you live way up north than me :P

We're tired of the cold too, it gets down on the 20's at night here, brrr. I know you are saying HA

definitely tread mill weather.....

wait - I don't jog on those either.

This would be a bad time to bemoan the overnight temps in the 40s, wouldn't it?

I went to Montreal in the winter once. ONCE. I swore never ever again. It's the kind of cold that gets into your bones and never leaves. Of course Toronto isn't much better these days.

As for Winnipeg, I've been there and believe me there is no reason to go, regardless of the weather.

We had that here for a few days last month. Even my eyeballs were freezing. We also had those joggers ... crazy, all of them. One of them was flapping his arms as we passed him in his rubber suit (note, is this a new craze?), and my friend mentioned that he looked like a seal. I was tempted toss him a frozen fish.

When you get home today: fireplace, hot chocolate with brandy, sex ... all good ways to warm up.

There is a reason that many of the buildings at the University of Manitoba are connected by underground walkways.

It's cold here too, but not that cold.

Still - I'd love to be skiing today! Loads of fresh powder (a foot!) overnight.

It's a balmy -13C here this morning, the tropics compared to Montreal or Winterpeg.

I still want spring now though.

I've always heard that Saskatchewan and Manitoba have ungodly winters. Of course, Minnesota and the Dakotas aren't much better. But cold is cold no matter where you are.

Even down South -- North Carolina -- it's cold this morning. It's 15F here in central NC.

Winter is upon us.

I hear liquor is good for the cold. But that's my solution to everything.

I was having a "my city is colder than your city" conversation with someone on Saturday.

She lived in Winnipeg. It was -50 with the windchill.

I stopped talking.

We're having a "cold snap" here in PA too...about 10 below with windchills. Although your temps kinda put everything in its proper perspective, eh? :)

OhMyGod, Somebody just pushed my "Mothering" button! Now I have to look around and see who needs mothering.......And I see Tornwordo, deeply in need of some hot chocolate and a kiss on the forehead while being tucked into a nice, warm blanky.
I swear, I'm so queer it hurts.

Holy crap. Yesterday I was in shorts. It was in the high seventies and beautiful.

I'm sorry, TW.

It's VERY cold here in Iowa too -- thank god I'll be going home to southeastern Arizona in a couple of weeks!

I was in Winnipeg in October where it snowed twice during the month. For risk of offending any natives of that city, I must say that Winnipeg is the most DISMAL place I've ever been, at ANY time of year.

It's so warm and muggy here that I wouldn't mind a bit of snow storm right now. Wanna swap? :P

So, it's 35 below and you're worried about never moving to Winnipeg because it's 50 below? At some point, doesn't it stop mattering? It all sounds totally freaking cold and nasty. You guys should have been on the Caribbean cruise with us!

Sorry guys but its 42 degrees celcius here in Adelaide Australia to dam hot if you ask but prefer it the cols snap you are having

Those joggers have issues. Yes, you live in a frozen tundra, but at least you are smart enough to not go running around in it. If God wanted us to run around outside he wouldn't have made fireplaces and cable television.

I find it particularly entertaining that you moved to your current home from California. That is a special kind of torture you have subjected yourself to.

So much for 'Global Warming', eh? It has been very cold here in Delaware too, and I've been thinking a little 'Global Warming' would feel nice!
