How do they do it?

There is no ice cream man in the winter. I wonder what all the ice cream men do around here for the 7 cold months. If they were smart, they'd transform their little trucks and become Hot Chocolate Men. Admittedly though, perhaps that has a bit less kid appeal. Yesterday, as I was curled up on the couch reading, I noticed the buzzing and humming of big trucks and machines getting louder. I hopped up to look out the window and realized the Snow Removal Men were here. Okay, maybe not as giddifying as the Ice Cream Man, but it still got me up to grab the camera. Basically you've got a long line of dumptrucks and a huge snow blower to fill the dumptrucks. Once the head-of-the-line truck is full, it speeds off to dump the snow and another empty truck takes its place.

Here have a look:

The whole operation is pretty impressive but Spouse dorking out is still my favorite part of the video.

We need to show your video to a bunch of idiots down our way who seeme to have lost their senses on how to handle snow.

In the area in which I grew up the towns handled snow well; but now where I live now. Your vid clearly shows how areas that get a lot of snow handle it and life goes on.

Cool vid (no pun) - cool torn and Spouse as always!

Love the video! LMFAO! Reminds me of the movie "The Jerk" when Steve Martin goes running up to the house yelling, "The new phonebooks here, the new phonebooks here"
My only concern is the dumping of the road dirt and grime into the river.

You guys are just so adorable! We actually have a hot chocolate man here. He has a van downtown from which he serves hot chocolate with marshmallows, hot apple cider, and warm cinnamon twists. Very good.

I had no idea about snow removal.

A hot chocolate man would get my business (why does that sound dirty?).

Your snow removal men are better than our snow removal men. I think my city is just waiting for spring, the roads are awful here!

Serge's dorkiness is charming!!

Wow! Thats a lot of snow on the patio. Its like the two trucks are doing a mating dance and the smaller one is transfering its genetic material to the larger one.

Man, that was a cool video you shot, TW. Thank you for demystifying the Canadian lifestyle.

Also, great idea on the hot chocolate. Imagine a mobile hot chocolate/designer coffee truck with the music and whatnot.

hey, snow removal, what a concept. no matter how much snow we get, they never remove it, they just plow it up onto the curbs and alongside the streets. people can work for hours getting their driveways cleared out and one trip through from the snowplow gets them buried all over again. it's nonsense!

i adore the idea of a roaming truck, selling hot chocolate. i'd go running if i heard that familiar music.

feel better soon. this gunk going around is not fun.
