Waxing

We're sitting before a sunny warm weekend. It was snowing last weekend and instead of shifting to spring, we've just hopped right along to summer. I wore shorts and my birkenstocks yesterday. We barbequed again too, this time pork chops marinated in bbq sauce and some boiled brussel sprouts on the side. Oh and cheesy potatoes too. ( I wanted to say the truth, fingerling potatoes and extra old cheddar, but that sounded so pompous) That all went down well with the wheat beer. That white wheat beer man, it's like beer candy.

This suddenly summer thing has me on edge. I feel like we have to do every summer activity imaginable since even in the summer, a sunny warm weekend such as this one is rare. It rains a lot here in the summer. But we can't do everything, so there's this challenge to maximize the time, but whatever we do, we'll be doing it outdoors. As I was walking home from the metro yesterday, I noticed Mount Royal, the hill-slash-park still iced with winter frosting, like a cupcake. I don't think a hike up there is in the cards, it ought to be rather muddy. Perhaps a stroll through the botanical gardens, a visit to the farmer's market to pick up some more crab, fix up the potted plants that have suffered indoors this long winter, ride the bike to Dairy Queen (did you see the commercial for the tin roof sundae blizzard? My mouth gushes with saliva every time I see it) Oh look the big Saturday paper just arrived, here I go with my coffee outside to consume it.

Your blogpost reminds me of an old song: "What a day for a day dream, custom made for a day dreaming boy. Pardon me and my day dream, deaming 'bout my bundle of joy. And if time is passing me by a lot, I couldn't care less about the dues you say I got. Tomorrow I may get it in gear, or I may be day dreamin' for a thousand years". (paraphrased) Ed

Relax Torn! Enjoy!
I'm as jealous as hell. It's raining here (as usual). Gives me time to catch up on my blogging, though.

I escaped to Atlanta for the weekend and it's raining this morning... I wish to trade areas with you sometimes. But, I think I'll hit the aquarium later this morning, it's all about making the most of the moment and situation, right?

As I sit here at -13C with a windchill of -22C all I'm thinking is "lucky fucker!"

I wish we had a spring, but you're right - Toronto goes from winter right into summer as well.

I'm enjoying the same weather out here in New Brunswick. Last night I set up my new little Bistro set on the front porch and had dinner & wine outside in the warm setting sun. Imagine!

And I was thinking just this morning that I'm going to have to get the Saturday paper delivered to my door now that outdoor reading time is here. :)

I guess this sort of weather is so long in coming and so short lasting that it would make one want to squeeze the most into it! I'm starting to get antsy for warmer weather myself and I've only been in Seattle for 2 weeks. It snowed last night. Set a record!! I'm not sure I could live in a climate like that. I need the sunshine too much!!!

Wow, the season really has turned for you! So many options for a wonderful weekend...DQ sounds like a great destination...haven't seen the Tin Roof commercial yet, but I'm sure it's yummy. Peanut Buster parfait this past week!

Whatever you do with the weekend, enjoy!!

Hot and sunny here in Lyon too - I've been sat on a terrasse drinking beer (and biere blanche at that - I agree, just like beer candy).

Lovely weather, lovely saturday.

It is presently -15 degrees with a (windchill of -22) here and spitting snow!! (Hi Rox ... I know you live near me *waves*) Apparently this is record cold for April here. This is perfectly ridiculous! Enough is enough! As I again haul out the snowpants and mittens, I am inclined to hate anyone living anywhere warm enough to wear shorts and sit outside. Except you, of course. You're entitled. You've had a hellish winter, too.

I guess it's payback time. You are having summer and we had snow last night. I know, bizarre.

Hmmm, beer swilling blokes with white hairy legs in birkenstocks. That is so Tofino. Dude, where is your longboard?

Whenever someone mentions eating pork I think of that ad slogan, "Put some pork on your fork!". Actually I also think of that slogan whenever I go to one of those Bear fests too. Wonder why that is? Hmmmm

Enjoy le weekend. Hugs to Serge.

As I read you comments on the weather, the snow is falling outside my window. We live at the same latitude, although I'm a bit west of you (see also Puget Sound). Strange days indeed.

However, after your Montreal Winter, you deserve a warm sunny day. Enjoy, and I shall enjoy vicariously ;-)

This morning I looked out the window passing through the kitchen to let the dog out, and there it was, huge snowflakes coming down and sticking. This is the PNW and we are usually finished with this type of weather a few months ago. There is more in the forecast for the next two days.

The intermittent rain has washed away any remnants of snow presently, but I would not be surprised to see snow again tomorrow morning. This is really strange weather for these parts.

Enjoy it! There's something particularly rejuvinating about springtime sun

It took me a few years, but now I really understand Quebecer's passion for summer. If it's sunny and warm outside, it's a crime not to get out there and enjoy it. I opted not to play softball this year because it took up most of the sunny evenings. I'd rather be at home with the family in the pool since I spend so much effort try to keep it up (the pool, not the family).

Your title was a tease. No fair.

I thought I was going to read something about the horrors of hair removal.
